Tennessee got a commit from a 6-10 kid this weekend. I would have to figure Miami-FL is our biggest competition. I think we would be better off with a transfer big that would sit out next season anyways...

But we'd get Izundu for 4 years, rather than two years from a transfer.

I thought we were still in the running with Miami last week. Think he really liked Arkansas that much?

Just sounded like he was pretty dead-set on Miami. Wanted to go there all along, couldn't get an offer because they had no room, they made room, gave him the offer, just visited them...I could be way off, as I have no inside scoop and just read things online, but that was the consensus I got. He also really talked up Arkansas so they may have passed us for 2nd place. I don't remember seeing him say much about UC.

Yeah, I agree on Miami looking like they might be out in front. Hopefully the Arkansas stuff is just bc that is the freshest in his mind. But that's still a factor, since his visit to UC seems like ancient history. It'll be interesting to see who else we have lined up if he chooses to go elsewhere. I was kind of hoping we would've been able to bring in Washington this past weekend with Rowsey, but things have been so quiet on that front.

I like Washington as a guy to back up the 4 and 5 after Ellis and DeBerry graduate. We will still need a true 5, but I hope we are still interested.

I keep hearing we're going after Washington from forums/posts, but I haven't heard anything from legit sources with our name even being mentioned. Am I missing something? I know we recruited him first time around, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's still considering UC/we're still going for him.

I said from beginning weather will come into play with his selection. It's a big difference for young guy seeing women in bikinis or streets covered in snow.

Latest on Ebuka Izundu from @langstonwertzjr. Picking between Arkansas, Cincinnati and Tennessee on Wednesday: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/high-school/article20673246.html

But then the article says:

Victory Christian coach Aureice McCain said Izundu, a 6-foot-10 center, will choose between Arkansas, Cincinnati and Miami. Izundu visited Arkansas last week and has also taken visits recently to Tennessee, Miami and Cincinnati, McCain said.

Which are the three schools?

EDIT: He replied to me. It's the latter 3 schools: Arkansas, UC, and Miami.

He was going to announce after the 15th and give Texas Tech a visit and now after the Arkansas visit he isnt visiting Tech and is now ready to decide? yep..hes going to Arkansas

Personally, I'd love to land this kid, but I'm not expecting it. I'm glad we made his final three. I'll just be pleasantly surprised if he chooses us. Glad he's officially announcing in a couple days so we can move on if he goes elsewhere.
