Quote from a article in a Conn. newapaper

Nobody at Cincinnati kissed up to me, told me I'd start or take this many shots or anything," Broome said. "They just said, 'Show up and [work].' [Cronin] said he wants to be the coach who gets me to the next level."

Like Micks approach here.

Agree. I love hearing stuff like this. Mick might not pull in the top recruits like some people want, but he doesn't lie to these guys to get them to sign on. Everyone that comes to play here knows what to expect.

I would just like to say welcome aboard Cane!

He looks like a play maker and boy have we needed more of those.

Of course, we all hope he has two outstanding seniors (Washington/Clark), a great Junior (Evans), and a hopefully great Sophomore (Cumberland) around him. With all the help, he may be a totally different player in a good way. If we have a great season next year, this could all get blown up with some of these guys possibly throwing their names into the NBA hat. That's an un-Mick like thing to do, but any one of these guys could develop to the point of that being at least feasible in my opinion. I also think you guys are prematurely giving up on Jenifer. I think we'll see a vastly different player next year, and one that will be a pretty big contributor. I'm still going with the skills that I saw in that pre-season scrimmage. If I have to go down with this ship, that is something I am prepared to do. I'm banking on Mick giving this guy a tad more freedom to create next year and not being so quick to yank him on a single mistake like he did this year. I think Mick was obsessed for this to be the special season we've all longed for and it just didn't come together. Jenifer was one of the players that fell victim to everything not coming together. I'm hoping the chemistry next year will be different and Jenifer will be one of the players who will surprise us.

You are absolutely right about Cronin giving him more freedom. Mick even said himself at the Banquet that he made some stupid coaching mistakes by not playing Jenifer down the stretch.

Looks in stature a lot like Cobb, but he is fearless taking it inside and much more creative inside the arc. Looks to be an excellent free throw shooter, hopefully he can make open shots enough to keep defenses honest.

"Everyone has a chip on their shoulder, from Coach [Mick] Cronin to the players, and I've always had that from being small and overlooked."

Yes.

Mick said on that podcast he isn't a fan of the 1 yr grad transfers. That explains why we never have had one. Lance asked Mick if he is done recruiting. Mick indirectly didn't answer but did bring up about looking for a guy (grad transfer) to help this year's team bc we are thin. If injuries come about we will be hurting.

He mentioned looking for a big man that can give minutes. If I were Quadri I'm not sure what I would make of that....but it wouldn't be a positive sign.

I happen to think we need depth at the wing more than down low. We only have Evans, KJ, and Cumberland. One injury and we are scrambling. Two guys can't play all 40 minutes and what about foul trouble?

The two options would be to bring Jenifer in or play with a PF at the wing.

We have two scholly's left. I thinking one to a big grad transfer and one to a High school wing. I think you'll see JJ and TC on the floor together next year. JJ at the PG and TC on the wing as a second ball handler.

If I was Quadri and I wanted to play I would be living in the GYM. For me its not so much his game that irritates me its his decision making.

There will be no Grad transfers only thing we will get is juco big or wing. Also Caupain Will be a point guard all year long JJ will have the same amount of minutes he did this year

I think TC will certainly be the PG. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him and JJ on the floor together on some occasions. If we don't land another wing JJ will get a few more minutes. The fact that they brought in another PG tells me that they are not confident that JJ will be the PG when TC leaves. They are looking for a Big. Brooks, Scott or Quadri are not adequate backups for Washington and Clark at this time.

Yea my guess is Cronin will use one for jr college transfer he did mention it was by design to have scholarships left before the Broome decision. There are plenty of high grade transfers left tho. Do they count towards ur scholarships during their waiting season like will Broome count as one of our scholarships for next year?

agree it will be a juco. Wonder if we are close to the Martin twins. If we are that would be hard to pass up.

Hmmm, pretty sure Creighton said no thanks after they got word of joseph comming in but i wont rain on this big get for mick.

Love having a shoot first, pass second, turnover machine point guard. Fits right in with mick's offensive game plan. Just throw it up and hope for a rebound.

Just when i didn't think recruiting could be any more of a joke, mick shows me it can.
