Rehfeldt just posted a picture of both Evans and Washington touching over 12 feet on the vertical jump

Looking at the photo Evans is insane

Wasington doing it great but Evans is much shorter and I didn't realize he could jump like this.

thanks for posting this. I couldnt figure it out with this crappy windows computer. But yea, that picture is insane. His head is above the rim

According Kenpom, Highest TOrate for UC last year:
1. Moore 27.2
2. Ellis 23.2
3. Jenifer 23.2
4. Shaq Thomas 19.3
5. KJ 18.9

KJ actually Made HUGE strides from Soph to JR season. Soph he was at 24.9 to his JR year being 18.9

Thats a pretty jump. Quadri improved his but only marginally. KJ and TC had the best improvements year over year. So I dunno why we wouldn't expect even better his season year.

That said, our top 3 guys at protecting the ball who are returning.
1. Evans 10.4
2. Clark 13.9
3. TC 14.7

Surprising stats, but I still think with more playing time KJ is going to have more opportunities to turn the ball over. His passing is atrocious............

I had no idea about the Vaughn stats either, but I guess he was playing every minute on two of the worst team's UC has ever had those two years.

I love all the Literal Larry's on here throwing out all the stats in the world though, I learned a few things.

Evans played through a pretty bad ankle sprain for a large majority of the season. You could tell from day 1 of workouts his athleticism was back to 100%. He's a lot more explosive than he looks...

Holy moly lmao.

I just wanted to point out that our first impressions aren't always based in fact after multiple years of practice. Sure kj was a TO machine in his first 2 years and that makes his mistakes stick out in his Jr year but stats show he is improving a lot in that area.

Wow!!! I wonder if the helicopter could reach that? I know some are worried about our inside rim protection but Evans and Clark are both very good...I'm sure Washington jumping to 12 feet we should be just fine.

If we can avoid injury and Cumberland is as advertised...we should have a great top 5. If our role players step up we might have a very good year. I wonder if Cronin can evolve a little and break from his comfort zone?

Man it's a slow off season.

22. Cincinnati Bearcats: "Ace of Spades," Motorhead (1980)

There is no larger thematic significance here other than that "Ace of Spades" is the best fighting soundtrack ever, and Cincinnati's preferred style of play can best be described as "organized bar-brawl." -- Brennan

Maybe one day we'll shake this reputation.

I know this is the 2016-17 thread but just thought i'd post an early look at our roster for 2017-18 now that we have the addition of Trevor Moore.

I think personally we are setup pretty well for this season and for next season. Assuming the combo of broome and JJ can work well with all the other scorers we have in the lineup.

Having bigs who can step out (Clark/Washington/Moore), guards who can drive (Broome/Jenifer/Cumberland), and wings who can shoot 3s (Evans/Moore) is the way to go imo.

With having weaker bench especially at the 4/5 spot. What are your guy's thoughts about running 4 guards: Caupain Johnson Cumberland and Evans then the Big would be either Clark or Washington

I think we'll end up seeing that lineup quite a bit in the big games. Evans has shown he can rebound the ball and defend, and would be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

I wouldn't be so quick to forget about Tre Scott. He will give quality back up minutes at the 4.

Ha I didn't see your response and was about to say the exact same thing. Evans rips down rebounds and AAC teams wouldn't have much success trying to stop a lineup like that.

My only concern is that Cronin is such a defensive-minded coach that his gameplan tends to be more reactive than proactive. Like if we're playing Central Florida, I feel like he'll be way too worried about their size and wouldn't think of a lineup like this to counter and force them to not be able to use a big guy bc they can't keep up in the speed of the game. Instead, like South Florida last year, he'll keep a traditional lineup out there for defensive purposes and play a halfcourt game despite the opponent having no backcourt and all size.
