Let the chatter begin...Farleigh Dickerson instead of Michigan on December 19th.

This is all Michigan. Nothing to blame here on UC. What else are you supposed to do

Agreed. Still disappointing. It's not UC's fault, but it was a game to look forward to - now...notsomuch.

Oh well. Moving on...

Do you know if they paid us for backing out? I know that can sometimes be a clause in the contracts.

Someone asked Chad that on Twitter and I believe Chad said he didn't think they paid us.

I think its because they have up until next year to reschedule. They haven't officially broken the contract yet since I believe it had to be scheduled within a certain few year period

Damn now I have a reason to hate O$U and scUM.

Can't wait to see the conference schedule and in what ways the AAC favors UConn.

We already know we only play Memphis once this year and its home. Really wish the AAC would let UC/Uconn/Memphis/SMU play each other every year no matter for SOS purposes

I feel like we are all getting antsy for the season to start and keep finding everything to point out. Some negative some positive but lets just focus on the positive for right now. Forget about last season and forget about if you like or dislike Cronin.

We have a strong starting 5. This might be the best starting 5 in the last 10 years. Yancy and Dixon's SR. year can be the only starting 5 that you can argue that's better.

Weaker AAC. Yeah, that makes it less exciting. But if we really can get through the conference only losing 2-4 games that's pretty good no matter how you look at it. It's very doable. Not only with our talent but also because the lesser talent in the AAC this year.

We have some great non-conference games. Michigan game is a bummer but we are playing ISU, Rohde Island, (hopefully Duke), Xavier, and Butler. Some chance for some quality wins. Really need to win the RI game to have a chance against Duke.

Caupin - invited to Steph Currys camp. Read tweets from random bloggers how impressed they are with Caupain. A 3 year starter that hopefully knows that this is it for him at UC and wants to go out with a bang. Coming off one of his best games ever and could possibly be one of the best performances by a UC player during the UCONN game.

Clark/Evans - One year older one year wiser. Another year under their belts and could be possible NBA players. Gary's shooting range has expanded a ton, and Evans just showed us during the St. Joes game that we do have another superstar in the making at UC.

Washington - All positives here. Gives us much more than Ellis did. Never have seen someone make so many costly mistakes as Ellis did. Washington is a proud Bearcat wants to win and goes 100% everyday. He will give us his all and is extremely talented.

Cumberland - One of our biggest recruits we have had in the last 10 years right from our own backyard. Big 6-5 frame that can score.

As a bonus, the red uniforms should be back this year!

Good post. It's very hard to put aside the negatives and we still have 2 months before the ball goes up, so I doubt we get that far without some more negatives, but at least for this post, I'll extend the olive branch and agree with you that I am somewhat excited about the possibilities of this season. I believe we'll see a completely different team dynamics or chemistry with this squad and am hopeful that will be all it takes to get us over the hump and get something special as a result.

L-T, you old softy....

Good post. Agree that we should have high expectations for the next couple of years. Hopefully these teams deliver.

Winning cures all.

Go Cats!

At least we found a somewhat "decent" team to play instead of Michigan. FD at least made the tourney last year and I believe they return the majority of their starters. Hopefully, they can win their conference again and don't kill our RPI.

Schedule is finally released. Not a bad schedule at first glance. Typical we went the year at UConn. Then we have to go right back for the tourney. I guess we have benefited from final season home games in the past so we are due. I like the final home game is against Houston.
Also like that we only have one road/road week. Let's get this started.

Only one 12pm road game and no Thursday conference road games.Very nice.

#270 in KenPom. They're terrible. Sucky situation.

These are the Kenpom rankings of our entire schedule from last year. Obviously a lot of teams will be worse and some will be better.

Best team: #11 Xavier but will be Duke no doubt if we play them
Worst 3 team: #281 Lipscomb, #270 Fairligh Dickenson, #271 Brown

Last year we played 4 teams ranked 300 or worse (306, 345, 315, 305)

So we should have a better non confernece just from not playing any w or L RPI bomb teams.
