Some games we have to win in order to maintain a respectful RPI:
-Rhode Island
-Xavier
-Split Butler or Iowa St.
-UConn at home. (I've read the game @UConn is being played at Gampel Pav. on Senior Day)
-SMU x2
-Temple x2. (Open up AAC at Temple, time to play better against them)

Really sucks our last few games before tourney will be @uconn (regular season and conference tourney )

Yup, sucks big time. Especially if the reg. season match up is at Gampel. Also you have the risk on injuries similar of the past year since UC/UConn match ups are so physical. But is it really surprising the AAC did it any other way? The fact the conf tourney is back at UConn is criminal.

I'm going to go with 22-9 in the regular season (13-5 AAC) for my prediction .

With no injuries I am going with 26-5. This is the year we win more than our share of the really close games and it all just comes together (on hands and knees praying). Caupain has a very special year, Clark finally goes meanface, Evans takes on a much bigger role, and Washington changes the chemistry of the team in a very big way. Our new players surprise and role players step up their game.

A man can dream huh??? UC fans need this one...

Will lose 75% those

That would be huge.

I'd like to see us use the 2 for 1 at the end of halves and games this year. Very little thing, but should definitely happen with a SR PG. It could help us win a close game or 2 also. There is absolutely no excuse for not doing this. And the conference tournament could have gone differently if we cared enough to use the clock to our advantage. Some close losses can be chalked up to bad luck. But sometimes it isn't a coincidence bc we aren't doing everything we can to give ourselves the best chance by maximizing possessions. With how slow we play, you'd think at some point we would stress doing the little things to be as efficient as possible.

Easy schedule cuz I think we lose all big games this year to lack of depth
Duke
At Iowa state
At Butler
Xavier
Uconn
At smu
Uconn
Yes, because depth has proven to be critical for success. I've never seen a Kentucky, Duke, Michigan or any other team only play an 8 man rotation and be successful.

Depth is overrated. It can help if you have injuries, but aside from that - talent wins.

Sure, I'd rather be 10 deep with guys who could start almost anywhere, but there are LOTS of examples of thin lineups that go deep in the tournament.

Those thin rotations are full of NBA players.

I'd take a healthy and really good starting 5 over a decent team with good depth any day.

Depth comes in handy when you have injuries or foul trouble but in big games, your best players play any where from 33-35 minutes if Not more in some games.

For example, we lack depth at the 3 BUT Evans is a guy who I believe has what it takes to play 35 minutes most nights. We don't need dominance from our bench. Just to not blow it for the starters

To win national titles, yes. I don't think anyone thinks that's what we're aspiring to this year. Being ranked a good portion of the season and Sweet 16 or better is a solid result for this team.

My point is, while everyone would love to be 10+ deep, a lot of success can be had with a solid 8 man rotation. I'm not sure we've even got that - but I'm hopeful we can get solid contributions from 3 of Cumberland, Scott, Jenifer or Brooks. I have no expectation that Q can help us. I'd love to be wrong about him also.

I would like to think every player will improve. If you decide to stay and play for a coach you have little choice but to adapt. We didn't have any players transfer so I expect they are buying in. From there all you need to do is work hard and do what the coach is asking.

I'm expecting a big season because of that. Our bench players need to want to be on the court. I don't think Moore, Jenifer, or Scott are satisfied with where they are.

That's a great point.

I think there were thoughts that Jenifer might be on his way out ( if you read his tweets they may have given you that idea) and he could've gone to a smaller D-1 school and been the starting PG. I'm glad he stayed and hopefully that translates to him having a more productive second season.
