Maybe "step back" was the wrong phrase. No question he improved, I just think many were predicting the improvement would be much better than it was.

And this is the kinda thinking im trying to avoid with Evans' expectations.

By Any measure, Gary Clark had a great sophmore season and yet some people had than what was reasonable for him to accomplish.

So Thats why Im keeping my expectations realistic for Jacob. If he improves like Gary has Ill be happy, But In no way expect him to be a 14-15 ppg guy.

My prediction is Evans averages 14.5 a game. As a ream we average 5 points more per game. Mark it!

I expect KJ to improve as well.

A lot of people don't like KJ for his mistakes but the facts are that he actually improved last year. He improved his TO's and his efficiency but did drop in shooting.

TO RATE (vai Kenpom)
14-15: 24.9
15-16: 18.9

ORtg
14-15: 94.2
15-16: 99.8

If he can find a way to improve his 3pt% back to what it was his Sophomore year and improve his overall eFG%, he could be a legit asset to this team instead of a liability on offense.

Also next season, our starting 5 will have 3 guys who take care of the ball exceptionally well according to Kenpom TO rate ( Caupain 14.7, Clark 13.9 & Evans 10.4).
And Washington's sophomore TOrate is 8 points better that Ellis's senior year. Ellis had a TO rate of 23.2 to washington's 15.2

So with all that said, on paper, we should be one of the best teams in the country at protecting the ball.

Not to mention Cronin says Cumberland is a very low turnover guy and almost always takes good shots. Obviously his D will be a concern to see how he picks that up. He sounds very bb smart.

So turnovers should be down with Washington and Cumberland. I might also add we can shoot with range from 1-5. I don't expect Clark and Washington to be airing it out...but late in the clock we can get one off with anyone from just about anywhere.

Good read here

I will make my own judgements in the players but Brooks sounds like a good find. I can't wait to see jjs progression and Scott sounds very like a glue guy who does everything. Moore should be better but I'm not expecting much. I hope Cumberland is effective sooner than later

Cumberland may very well be a great shooter but his shot is anything but soft and buttery. IMO his shot if very awkward. I also hope he is quick enough to guard. He is definitely built.

Good article. Know he is not on the bench in uniform but would have liked some news on Broome
