I agree about Caupain. I think that, as long as he stays healthy, we'll see the fg% go up. Didn't Mick say in his presser that Troy played injured for the second half of the season last year? I can't remember what he said the injury was...

Maybe he did, but he use to say the same thing about Cash, which I do believe Cash was the most banged up with his knee.

It's hard for me to believe we are the only injured team, a lot of these players have to be banged up. There's a difference though when someone is noticeably hurt like Gary last year, or just a little banged up like Troy. Again, I have no idea how serious the injuries were?

Pulled groin I think.

There's a difference between being banged up from wear and tear, which everyone is by the end of the year, and being injured. In my mind, being injured drastically affects your ability to play at the highest level. Gary Clark and his ankle is the perfect example. He was a shell of himself at the end of the year.

Will we see Troy be aggressive all game long? Or will we beg him to drive to the hoop and create?

It hasn't done any good to beg Troy to do something. For three years he has had to look over to Mick for what to do. Hopefully, as a senior point guard, he has the experience and the freedom to make that decision on his own and we don't see him walking up the court looking at Mick anymore. He should be the coach on the floor by this point. He'll hopefully know what to do.

That stat is insane. And infuriating! Gary should be taking the 3rd most shots.

Yeah...he has to WANT to score and have the ball in his hands. A little less Mr. Nice Guy...demand the ball!! He's such a great passer too...if the D collapses on him on the block it's a thing of beauty when he kicks it out, drops it down to the other big, or even throws over the top cross court. We need Gary and Kyle to command attention down low to make it easier to score on the perimeter and to get our 3% up about 5 points over last year. When we start draining 3's, we can now use pump fake slash, or go back down low.

We have the tools to make this work. It's up to the coach to make sure it happens.

With Caupain, Evans, Cumberland, and 2 bigs with mobility and range, I hope we're much more drive and kick than inside-out. And I'm cautiously optimistic that we will be.

You can't make a guy "mean" on the court. He has to have that within himself. I don't know that Gary does. If he can harness a little bit of what Kenyon had, Gary could be dominant. He has the skill. The coaches are preaching that to him but it's up to him to find that next level within himself. I hopeful that we will see it this year because it will be so much fun to watch!

I saw Gary on Mick's weekly TV show last year and just came away so impressed by him. He was one of the nicest, well-spoken, classy individuals that I've ever heard. Kenyon had a little more of an edge and an inner fury. Gary is just a super nice kid that just works hard and is unselfish and just appears to just do what's best for the team. We wish that he had some of that Kenyon fire, but I think he has his own strengths. They might not match what Kenyon had, but the end result might not be much different. I don't expect a unanimous consensus national player of the year, but I don't think it is a huge reach to think that "All-American" is certainly a decent possibility for him before his career is over. This might be a break-out season for him.

Can't disagree with anything you said here. It will be fun to see what Gary does in the next 2 years.

I guess mean maybe isn't the right word. I just want to see him demand the ball and then want to do more with it. It's okay to be a nice guy and aggressive at the same time. He's pretty aggressive on D getting him D conference POY.

I think you are right when Cumberland is in...that would be a good strategy. When KJ is in...obviously he isn't as good at driving the lane. The options should be there this year...but as always...we will have to wait and see how Cronin will/won't incorporate them.

Solid points. I sure hope so as well.

Take care of business and stay ranked all year. This program needs the publicity and the hype to fill the seats. We should be selling out more home games. The fans want to see it and so do the recruits.

It's time!! Get it done. No more excuses.
