I disagree. St John's has a ton of talent this year. They will surprise some teams this year.

They have talent but aren't ready to win this yea. CBS sports picked them up finish 9th in the BE and finish with 12 wins.

Also, i still never put stock in exhibition games and scrimmages. Can RI beat us? Sure. But pretty sure st John nor Harvard plays D like UC and it gives us a chance every game

Definitely. I'm not expecting u.c. to get to play duke.

Unless they are a top 10 team on the road I expect us to be in every contest. Tough game...but if we can't win these...how much can we hope for in March?

I hope we not only have a chance but I hope we have a better team. Of course I have been let down before but my expectations don't change much. I would sooner change the coach than my expectations.

Mick Cronin says Cincinnati sophomore G Jacob Evans will return to practice this week after missing 2 wks with a bruised foot.

Agreed. Don't see how anyone can assume we are going to lose to a team unless they are a top ten team or so. Id be willing to even go as far as saying a top 5 team seeing that Xavier is in the top 10 and they don't scare me one bit. Yes, if we play a team like Duke, UK, Kansas something like that my doubts are there. Not saying its a lock win against Rohde Island, just don't see how anyone can say assume we lose to them. In the past 2 years we have lost by double digits 4 times, showing that we are in almost every game and have the ability to compete.

They're probably a top 20 team and it is essentially a road game.

Found this interesting. A break down of 4/5 star recruits by conference.

To emphasize last tweet. 4/5 star recruits by conference Pac 12 (23), ACC (15), Big East/SEC (13), B1G (12), Big XII (10), AAC (2), A10 (3)

This shouldn't stop us from winning AAC regular season and tournament titles. This season we're doing at least 1 of those things.

Not sure why there is so much doubt about the Rhode Island game. I'll be making the trip for both and can't wait, just hope we get to play duke to make it all worth it. But our D has always proven to be an equalizer for good offense teams, if we can disrupt their shooting and stay in the passing lanes and get some quick buckets in transition thin should go our way. I have a feeling UC goes in and plays strong and wins by 6-9. Upperclassman are hungry after last year.

Broome averaged 23 PPG playing DI ball. What's not to like about what Moore and Williams have to offer? Pretty sure having a 3 point ace isn't going to hurt us. And last I checked we've had some success with NY guards here. If you're not excited about what Evans gives us then there's no pleasing you. Final 4 is in no way shape or form "unprecedented heights."

I feel there is just always this dark cloud around you. My guess is you're just older and bitter from years of losing sports teams here. Which I can understand. What do you recommend I do? Yes, I'm an optimist sports fan following Cincinnati teams. So my expectations aren't terribly high. I pretty much just hope to see my alma mater win a NCAA Championship in my lifetime. I don't find that to be too outlandish. If I expected that every year, that's a different story. Didn't know I couldn't get excited about this year's team, as well as next year's team. Yes, I've also been pumped for this year's team dating all the way back to last season.

As far as apologizing goes? Hell no. This is a fan board that gives us all the opportunity to discuss something we're passionate about. So if your motive is to limit people from doing that, then good luck. Do I honestly think they'll make the Final 4 this year or next? It's totally possible. So keep being bitter and I'll keep to my ways. Agree to disagree with things. Or as someone is going to recommend after I post this- use the block feature ;)
I think there's nothing wrong with what you said. You typed what you were excited about after watching old video. You could be wrong, but no shame in getting excited, and sharing with fellow fans!

Is this just for incoming FR?
Jake it was a tweet put out by a guy named Brian Snow. I think it is for incoming freshman. I found it interesting and will track it. For me it's exactly why I was hoping to get into a power 5 conference. I hope this is a down year for our conference but my suspicion is recruits feel we may be a step down from the othe leagues.

It may be a down year but in general, the AAC is looked down upon with recruits. They are going to ACC, Big East and the other P5. Just a fact.
