We have 5 guards/wings that can play. We have 2 bigs that are very solid.

We will need one of these other bigs to WANT to step up their game for an 8 man rotation!! The bodies are there including the 4 guard option...but we need a quality back up big to put this team to higher heights.

Stay on topic if you want to stay around. There is little about this season if anything that will involve Bob Huggins. Comparisons are fine if you are capable of moving on without getting into a pissing match and derailing the thread.

going back to the 2012-13 season up to last season.

Non-Conference PPG
2012 - 78.38ppg
2013 - 73.07ppg
2014 - 62.53ppg
2015 - 78.15ppg

Conference PPG (Including Conf Tourney)
2012 - 59.35ppg
2013 - 65.90ppg
2014 - 62.26ppg
2015 - 69.78ppg

Full Season PPG
2012 - 68.86ppg
2013 - 69.48ppg
2014 - 62.40ppg
2015 - 73.97ppg

I don't really see where you think they are getting better offensively. One season avg over 70ppg and 0 seasons in conference play.

every year people get all excited and say the offense is going to be unstoppable because we dropped 100+ on some sisters of the poor school but once we hit conference play or play an actual team in non conference we score in the 50's and 60's. SO wait until we play someone decent and get into conference play before you start saying that the offense has improved.

Ok they had gotten better 3 of the last 4 not sure where you aren't seeing it, it's right in the numbers you typed. They had a bad season last year, think we mostly agree on why.

Waterhead, I don't get why you won't give Brooks a chance. He's the ONLY true C on the roster. He will be valuable, even if he isn't used a ton. He has 5 fouls to work with if our other bigs are in trouble. That's a nice luxury with only 10 scholarship players. And against, for example, Tacko Fall, we may need him to play a role. I already like what I see from him, albeit in limited time. But he should continue to get more comfortable. And over the course of a 30 something game grind, I believe he'll prove to be an asset.

I don't think 1 guy has to emerge out of Scott, Moore, and Brooks to be used all the time. It will depend on matchups. Sure, maybe sometimes we could get away with Scott and 4 other non-bigs...but against certain teams, we'd get killed trying to do that. I think itd be crazy to voluntarily remove your only true C from the equation.

I get the notion to want to red shirt him but like you said with only ten players, we don't wanna put ourselves in that position to need and not have him. And I saw that tacko guy play the other day, we are gonna need all the big bodies we can get against a guy like him.

All in all, I truly think this is a special team. I know a lot of us though that last year too, but what we have brought in to replace what we lost is clearly better thus far. And by that I mostly mean Washington over Ellis, caupain and Clark haven't even got going at all yet, and that's saying something with how well we have played. We have four guys in our team that could be all conference, if Evans keeps it up not only will he probably be conference player of the year but he will get himself into some of the award finalist lists this year too.

Anything less than sweet sixteen this year would be a failure, but honestly I think we should be hoping for more.

I think he could be good but used as a 3 man tag Team getting 5 minutes I would rather extend his eligibility. I hope he proves we need him more than that.

we all agree we won't need him mh, but like I said when we do, better to have than to have not.

I think we will play 4 guards with Washington or Clark before he comes in. So his main option for playing time is foul trouble for both. This also assumes Moore or Scott would not come in before him.

It sounds like he's going to play so I hope he gets enough minutes to improve!

I'm excited and optimistic also, but I'd pump the brakes a little on expectations as yet. We don't really know much about this team yet. Still too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions as yet.

We'll know a little more by Monday, but we won't have a great feel for this team until mid-January.

So far though, I like what we've seen.

Go Cats!

If you don't think a Monday night Bengals game may effect the attendance of a game versus Albany... you are actually more delusional than I thought.

I would believe it if I hadn't seen the same type of attendance (or less) every year with no Bengals games to compete with. The opening game drew only 640 people more, on a non work night and non school night (Friday), with no Bengal's game, and against a team that we had at least heard of. So, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and add 640 more to the number. We still wouldn't reach capacity of the Shoe either way for our two game total..

This weekend will go a long way toward determining if this program can reach 10,000 fans a game this season for the first time in a decade. 2 and 0 this weekend will create a buzz and start bringing the fans back.

It's going to be good to see how we play against real competition. Caupain will be fine. He raised his level of play vs good competition last year. I hope some of the other guys can keep it going.

To me, it's more about what this team needs, than potentially having Brooks 4 years from now. If he can help us win a Conference Championship this year in any way, it's worth having him as an option imo.

Well obviously it's early, but we can still see the talent, I'd like to see us match up against some good teams. But I think it's fair to expect a sweet sixteen run or better

Absolutely correct. Under Mick, Cincinnati rarely draws more than 7,250 for these types of games. Under a previous coach, they regularly sold out (or close to it).

We have four possible all conference players, we better make something happen. I don't wanna be on L-Ts side lol

Why would you not want to be on the side of continuous improvement, and continuous success and achieving historical standards, and then maybe surpassing them? That's where I am. This season has the chance to meet my expectations for the first time in a decade, and I fully expect next season to be better than this one. Come join me. Setting the bar high and then achieving it is a lot of fun.

We'll get back over 10,000 this year (hopefully), but unfortunately, who the hell knows what next year's attendance will be since we don't even know where we are playing yet.

Letting Washington work inside is a really nice option. Those announcers were just raving about him all weekend. I know people are/were worried about Clark but he still impacts the game in a lot of different ways. Our offense has looked pretty good overall. Caupain's shooting struggles have continued into this season, but like Clark, he impacts the game positively in a lot of different ways and obviously needs to be on the floor. If Johnson and Moore become the odd men out as far as scholarship players go, and Brooks is counted on for spot minutes, I like the look of this team. We're going to win a lot of games. And we should bring home the AAC title and have players all over the awards lists.
