If only our bracket ended up the way Lunardi has it now. Have to beat Texas tech to get to elite 8, Virginia for final 4. Texas tech is a not as good version of us. And I've said it before I'll say it again, Virginia can't compete with us offensively. I would love a matchup against them for the final four.
Yes that would be perfect. Virginia has no inside game and no dribble penetration. They would possibly score in the low 40's against us, and they'd have to double our post players=open 3's. If we hit them at a decent clip is a different story haha
It's pretty amazing what a low opinion everyone seems to have of Virginia around here. I wonder how they've won a game all year.
I don't have a low opinion of them at all. I just don't think their offense is all that great, because it isn't. How many times have you sat down and watch one of their full games?

it is pretty crazy. its almost like people dont realize Virginia has a better 2 point shot % than us, better 3 point shot % than us, much better FT % than us, and commit far fewer turnovers, and they've done it vs 18 top 100 kenpom teams vs our 10 games vs top 100.
but they are about the worst in the country at grabbing offensive rebounds, and we are the 2nd best.
fwiw the opinion a lot of our fans seem to have about watching them is the same one a lot of fans around the country have about watching us play. of all teams that should understand and appreciate virginia for what they are, it should be us.
The "eye test" always prevails...lol! Stats are not something a lot of fans can relate to nor do they want to. The eye test will serve them better.
I like our eye test and stat tests this year a lot more than other years as a combination.
could you imagine if we ran out 3 guys that shot 3s at the same % as Jake and also shot them at least as often as Jake. thats what they have.
we have some guys with high percentagess but in far fewer attempts. they have 3 guys that have career 3 point % over 39 and are high volume shooters.
@JonRothstein
Cincinnati's Justin Jenifer has only committed 21 turnovers in 506 total minutes this season. Averaging a turnover every 24.0 minutes. The epitome of ball security.
