Xavier is #12 if we win both our games and x does which they should that could be the game of the day.

Nice! After three "not so pretty" performances, that is a nice jump. Two more wins this week should get us in the top 15.....then X, Norfolk St., at VCU, & Iowa St. We'll have to win 2 of those 4 games minimum. 3 of 4 would be great. 4 of 4 unbelievable.

I think we'll be ready to go for all the big games coming up. We may have only scored 63 ppg this weekend, but it wasn't for lack of decent looks. We now know that worst case, when we're struggling to play inside-out, we're still going to score in the 60s. Last year in those kind of games we were scoring low 50s. Lots of room for this team to continue to grow and improve too. We're going to be really tough for anyone to beat.

It's hard not to talk about them. I looked for every angle possible to discount their performance, but they looked awesome this weekend. Again, I just hope it was a matter of them peaking early. I'm glad we didn't play them this weekend. We have almost two weeks for them to lose their mojo....and for us to get ours back. I like the fact that they'll have 2 less days to prepare for the game than us.

I'd rather have 4 days of rest than 6. 6 is too long, we always seem to have a week or so off before them and we come out flat.

For what its worth, KenPOM has us winning every game in the next 6 except the one at Xavier.

If we walk away 5-1 out of the next 6 games, I'll be super pumped.

Syracuse is also getting some big pub. I'm not really sure I'm buying them.

But if we drop one to X at the cintas center when Xavier is ranked #12 or better in the country and it also means that we beat Iowa St, Butler, and VCU then Ill take it. RPI wise and Kenpom wise that loss to Xavier wouldn't hurt a bit. It would only hurt our egos but I want the bigger picture, and defeating a top 10 iowa state would be amazing

I dont want to lose at Home at all this year.

Plus Im just going off KenPom Predictions ( see attached). Obviously I would love to win all 6.

I think in terms of RPI we'd be better off winning at X right? In their conference they are likely to finish with a high RPI and road wins vs top 20 RPI teams are gold.


(note i think the RPI is a joke and does a horrible job of ranking teams, but the committee loves it)

I was strictly saying that if we are going to take a loss then the best RPI loss would be to Xavier.

I mean if we win all of them, its great and we'd probably be top 10 or top 5 ourselves. But if I had to pick a loss with out including my ego about Xavier, it would be to an 12 ranked team in there house. Xavier would be the best for RPI if we won, but also the least impacting if we lost

Looks like we dropped to 23 in AP and 22 in coaches polls. Which was what we all probably expected.
