Hate these games. Really don't see where they provide much of anything. Young guys get to play but at this point in the season I would prefer they were playing the younger kids in meaningful games as the opportunity presented itself. We had lots of Turnovers tonight and many were of the unforced variety. In my mind these kind of games foster bad habits.

Other than about 10 minutes of the first half...the game was just ugly street ball. I agree with you. I hope it helps the bench or Cane build confidence. There was nothing about that game that will resemble conference play.

he has time.

He's in his 3rd year and still looks like the first year on Offense. He has no post skill at all really other than being tall and jumping.

Even though he doesn't make many now...his mid range face up game is probably his best bet.

Yeah Scott won't be a go to guy in the post or be a top scorer. Just isn't his game. He's really good at facing up though and he sees the floor well. If he can at least knock down an open 3 by next year, that could not only do a lot for his game, but also for our spacing. Especially if Brooks and Nsoseme are our main screeners.

Yah... I think he almost has to stretch to the 3 point line if he's going to have any chance to be effective offensively.

You can stop him with one defender in the paint. Take away the mid range and he's next to useless as a scorer if he can't hit a 3.

This game knocked our SOS back from 208 to 293. Thurs game will make it one of the one worst non conference SOS of any team trying to actually make the tournament.

I don’t think Scott or diarra in our starting line-up will even get us to the NCAA tourney..... they are ok backups that’s about it.

yea im in this camp. nothing ive seen from scott or even brooks has me confident in the 4 or 5 next year

Ouch! I think we have to go through conference with no more than 2-3 losses to get a protected seed. Hopefully we get a little help along the way with some of the teams we need to finish as column 1 or 2 games.

On the bright side I think SMU is going to provide us with a couple of opportunities in column 1 along with WSU. Hopefully UCF can hang in there until Taylor comes back...we need them in the top 75 along with Houston and Temple. Along with 1 tourney game I think we still might have about 8 chances at column 1 wins and we need to win 5-6 of those and then take care of the rest of the schedule. It's a tall order but the potential is there. It would also be nice to win our tourney.

If we have to play as a 5-6 seed...so be it.

It sounds crazy but I follow a bunch of nba draft podcasts. They all think highly of Evans.

They also think Gary can be an nba player

The only thing I wonder about Evans is whether or not he can help himself next year move up the draft after we lose Clark and Washington. We are going to need to lean heavy on our guards. But I guess he could also be less efficient because defenses won't have to account for our bigs as much as this year. They can crowd the perimeter a little more.

How does anyone question Evans ability in the pros. Perfect size and athleticism. Can do it all. He shoots lights out too. If we continue on this good year and make it far in the tourney he's gone.

I really do think Gary will make it too.

because there is one specific problem his game has that he hasn't really improved on very much that will drive him down draft boards. his ability to create separation 1v1 to get a clean look.

nobody is saying he won't have a shot at the nba, but if you're a fringe 1st rounder im not sure it makes sense to leave early. good defenders that can shoot can always have a spot in the nba, but this is about getting drafting high.

Evans and Clark are the best players on the floor in basically every game we play. I'm not sure if them being NBA guys sounds crazy, or the fact you listen to NBA Draft podcasts?

Evans would definitely help his stock if he came back. He's not old for his class. He could be an AA.

wow. I said it wouldn't be a problem if we won the games but we didn't so it"s not going to look good. Having a schedule this bad should never happen at this level, especially with a team that is top 15 preseason. I get the arena problems but you have to find a way to at least get it under 100. If you have to play neutrals or give up a home game you have to do it.

I think we already have 2 less home games as is.

thats just not living in reality.

this year had to be exceptionally tough to get a schedule together. im sure the cost of not playing at our own arena cut into the money available for buy games. then factor in we only had availability to the arena on certain days and you gotta take what you can get.
