Who is going to beat us in the AAC. I mean really besides at WSU. Maybe at SMU. 27-4 and winning our conference tourney will get a 4 seed or better. Can we stop worrying about our SOS unless some how we lose to Houston or someone pathetic.
I get what everyone is saying about Evans and I think that's why it matters if we make it far in the tournament. If we do, he mostly likely has a lot to do with it and that will be extremely positive exposure that could lead to him leaving early. A lot can happen, but that guy belongs in the NBA one day along with Gary.
I couldn't disagree more with the Perm guy.
I don’t think Houston is pathetic. They are 4th best team in the league right now and are top 50 in kenpom.,
They also destroyed a really good Arkansas team by 30 points.
I think we should go undefeated in conference at home but I won’t deny being concerned about playing bad in places where usually struggle which will be a disaster: @houston, @temple, @smu, @ucf, @wichita state and even @uconn. I think we absolutely have to go 4-2 In those games including protecting home court and not blowing any other games.
Why should we be concerned about SOS? Well we have 19 games left and already have zero room for slip ups and error. Team needs tu play like every game is life or death because it is.
Also the AAC is no where near as strong as we expected. In the preseason we had 8 teams in the top 100. We’ve already reduced that down 25% and we’re down to just 6. And unfortunately we are one of those teams and we can’t play our selves. So just 10
Games left against the top 100 and not a single one of them will be easy. Temple always outcosches and plays us tough and close, Houston is looking better and has a lot more scoring. Smu is on our heels with already better wins than us and they added McMurray who looked really good. Plus their new big is going to be great. Wichita state gets its leading scorer and excellent defender back.
I’ll feel a whole lot more comfortable if we can start the year 5-0 in conference (Memphis, @temple and SMU, @south Florida and @UCF). Not an easy task but I’ll feel great if we get it done
