its only an opinion, but when I watch him play thats just the feeling I get.

I'm pretty much on the same page, I just draw the line when you say he doesn't have confidence in himself. If that were true, I don't think he would've left home to come to a foreign place for college. I think he's just a quiet kid from Louisiana who loves crawfish. But he's really coming on strong right now I think. And I would personally rate him as one of the most valuable players in college basketball. I don't think you get there if you don't have the confidence to put it out there, knowing you're on National TV. Coach Cronin may have to pry it out of him some, and that's where I agree with you and would say timid can apply. I just don't see the confidence part.

Surprised no one mentioned this (unless I missed it) but Cronin didn't do postgame on the radio last night. It was LD bc Cronin was still in the locker room. LD passed along the message that no one was happy with the way we played the last 30 or so minutes. Also, I don't think there was a postgame presser. Interesting. Radio show tonight so I bet we hear Coach explain why he's not thrilled with the team. Could be a good wake up call going into conference play.

i thought it was weird to see LD was the one that did the postgame media interview. thats why i didnt watch it.

There were two problems with our schedule last year. Not enough column 1 games...and the fact we only won 3 of 7. Two of those were at home.

We still have a shot at maybe 8 more column 1 games this year. We have to win 5 or 6 of those. Only 2 of them will be at home. Assuming SMU finishes top 30.

That will cover a good portion of what the committee wants to see. Column 1 wins...especially away from home. OOC SOS is only 1 factor. We have to win over 50 percent of those column 1 games though if we want a seed like that. We aren't off to the best start but there will be more chances.

Better hope that Wichita St does not have any more hiccups, were down at half to arky state last night. Would not be good to have them barely ranked when UC faces them.

Who is going to beat us in the AAC. I mean really besides at WSU. Maybe at SMU. 27-4 and winning our conference tourney will get a 4 seed or better. Can we stop worrying about our SOS unless some how we lose to Houston or someone pathetic.

I get what everyone is saying about Evans and I think that's why it matters if we make it far in the tournament. If we do, he mostly likely has a lot to do with it and that will be extremely positive exposure that could lead to him leaving early. A lot can happen, but that guy belongs in the NBA one day along with Gary.

I couldn't disagree more with the Perm guy.

Yah...I think we were up 28 points with more than 9 minutes to play in the first half. We had 32 points which puts you on a pace for close to 60 at half and 120 for a game. We ended with 77 points and the lead was still 28 points in the end. It was not pretty for 30 minutes of a 40 minute game.

I can understand starters losing a little interest but the bench can't afford to if they want to earn minutes.

I don’t think Houston is pathetic. They are 4th best team in the league right now and are top 50 in kenpom.,

They also destroyed a really good Arkansas team by 30 points.

I think we should go undefeated in conference at home but I won’t deny being concerned about playing bad in places where usually struggle which will be a disaster: @houston, @temple, @smu, @ucf, @wichita state and even @uconn. I think we absolutely have to go 4-2 In those games including protecting home court and not blowing any other games.

Why should we be concerned about SOS? Well we have 19 games left and already have zero room for slip ups and error. Team needs tu play like every game is life or death because it is.

Also the AAC is no where near as strong as we expected. In the preseason we had 8 teams in the top 100. We’ve already reduced that down 25% and we’re down to just 6. And unfortunately we are one of those teams and we can’t play our selves. So just 10
Games left against the top 100 and not a single one of them will be easy. Temple always outcosches and plays us tough and close, Houston is looking better and has a lot more scoring. Smu is on our heels with already better wins than us and they added McMurray who looked really good. Plus their new big is going to be great. Wichita state gets its leading scorer and excellent defender back.

I’ll feel a whole lot more comfortable if we can start the year 5-0 in conference (Memphis, @temple and SMU, @south Florida and @UCF). Not an easy task but I’ll feel great if we get it done

I just think this is so stupid. So you mean if we beat East Tennessee State and Marshall by 2 points and 4 points, respectively instead of 2 our of worst SOS teams by 30 points. Get to conference play and only lose @ Temple @SMU and at @WSU we would end up a 4 seed and not a 6 seed solely because our SOS is stronger?

I just don't see it like this. I think the committee knows what games to look at and they will. Right now we are 2-2 in those games and hopefully we dominate conference play. None of this will matter about freaking out that we played Arkansas Pine Bluff. It will matter though if we win @SMU as an example.

Also, If we get a 6 seed then we get a 6 seed. Do we have to have a negative outlook and put to shreds every single game on our schedule. It is what it is, just enjoy the season and hope it all works out.

I think we already have 2 less home games as is.

Honest question, how do we have 2 less home games. We have only played 2 roads and one was x. And we played a neutral game. We will play in a tournament every year, so those don’t count. (I guess it could be a 2 or 3 game tournament but that shouldn’t matter). Are you telling me we can’t play away from home more than twice a year without losing money? If so, there is something wrong with that system

Last year our tournament had 2 games off campus. This year it was 3. Last year we were at Butler and at Iowa State OOC. This year was x, UCLA, and FLA.

So we can’t have more than 2 away games with a 2 game tournament? This is what you are saying? I’m really asking.

I actually don't know how that works. Last year we had 18 home games. Obviously half of those are conference, so I guess the goal is 9/13 OOC at home with hopefully a couple of those being home and home (4 of those going on each year). If we play in a 3 game tournament though I guess 17 would be the ideal number. And we already had to sacrifice another to get the FLA game. So yeah I mean 2-3 marquee games away from home would be the most you could expect outside of the tournament we play in.

I knew we had to play so many home games to make money but this seems to be a bit extreme if we can only play 2-3 games away from home. Especially if we don't have money for the better buy games. I know this is a weird year but it's not like we have had great OOC schedules in the past.

You would think, long term and it would be more beneficial to play another 1-2 top tier away games than a coppin state or pine bluff. Doubt these games are making a ton of money anyway.

I would like if our buy games were Miami (OH), NKU, Toledo, Akron, Western Kentucky type schools.

As a fan, these games, still aren’t exciting. We win them by 30 at home. I don’t know the answers but it’s an interesting discussion. I think the sport is slowly trying to get rid of having 8-9 buy games with incentivizing the road games

I hope I'm wrong here too...just reviewing RPI, BPI and KenPom like sites. Obviously depends on whom losses are to.
