Who is going to beat us in the AAC. I mean really besides at WSU. Maybe at SMU. 27-4 and winning our conference tourney will get a 4 seed or better. Can we stop worrying about our SOS unless some how we lose to Houston or someone pathetic.

I get what everyone is saying about Evans and I think that's why it matters if we make it far in the tournament. If we do, he mostly likely has a lot to do with it and that will be extremely positive exposure that could lead to him leaving early. A lot can happen, but that guy belongs in the NBA one day along with Gary.

I couldn't disagree more with the Perm guy.

I'll bet you we lose more that just 2 games the rest of regular season.

I just think this is so stupid. So you mean if we beat East Tennessee State and Marshall by 2 points and 4 points, respectively instead of 2 our of worst SOS teams by 30 points. Get to conference play and only lose @ Temple @SMU and at @WSU we would end up a 4 seed and not a 6 seed solely because our SOS is stronger?

I just don't see it like this. I think the committee knows what games to look at and they will. Right now we are 2-2 in those games and hopefully we dominate conference play. None of this will matter about freaking out that we played Arkansas Pine Bluff. It will matter though if we win @SMU as an example.

See thats where your seeing this all wrong.

Xavier played 2 top tier buy games against teams who can actually beat you. We play the worst buy games you play and they stood no chance of beating us.

You can think what you want. History says you need to game the RPI and schedule even good buy games. Add in that our tough 4 game stretch isn't looking nearly as good as it did in August when the schedule came out. Florida has fallen hard, UCLA is no longer top 25 and Miss state was always looked at as just a P5 opponent and nothing more. Were kinda lucky Xavier is so good. I mean, we have 1 top 50 win through then entire non conference. Thats about as bad as its been for us in multiple years.

I won't rule out a protected seed yet, but its almost 100% that we have to go undefeated to get it.

Think about this: If Houston pulls off this win against PRovidence, then they have 3 top 100 wins.

We have 2 top 100 wins

Houston has 3 including a 30 point top 25 win
Temple has 5 including 2 top 50 wins
SMU has 3 top 100 wins including 2 top 50 wins
UCF has 3 top 100 wins including 1 top 50
Uconn has 1 top 50 win
Wichita State has 3 top 100 wins including 1 top 25 ROAD win.
Even Tulsa has a top 50 win on a neutral court

So far we've down ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stand out even in our lackluster conference let alone in the national scene. Houston, SMU, Temple, UCF and WSU all have better resumes than we do and if they beat us even once, they solidify themselves into getting in and push us out.

I don't think your seeing the weight of such a bad top heavy schedule. Im no longer mad about it, but lets just say our conference foes did a hell of a lot better than we did.

I think he's a pro, but not NBA...don't see any of our current players in NBA for that matter.

HEs already on draft boards everywhere lol. I'll second Jacob and make it even sweeter, we have at least 2 pros on the team. Clark and Evans.

Honest question, how do we have 2 less home games. We have only played 2 roads and one was x. And we played a neutral game. We will play in a tournament every year, so those don’t count. (I guess it could be a 2 or 3 game tournament but that shouldn’t matter). Are you telling me we can’t play away from home more than twice a year without losing money? If so, there is something wrong with that system

we might have lost 1 home game BUT the reality is; we did nothing to give the home fans something to come to the games for.

I mean, if I ran the bearcats scheduling and its my job to get fans in seats, I would say I did a terrible job when I brought in just 1 top 100 team to my fans.

And then outside of that every other team I brought in was 282 or worse. I'd be embarrassed. Your fans love Gary Clark and yet in the month of november and December, you do nothing that gives your fans a great game on its home court with 2 great seniors.

I mean, I would honestly take playing UCLA in cincinnati during gary clarks senior year over having UCLA come to the new arena, but thats just me

Yeah Duke fans must be crying right now. Look at their home schedule.

What about UK, mich St, or UNC. Just go look at some of their schedules, please. I don't know if you think all of the other teams are just out their playing 2, 3, 4 games at home against ranked teams or top 100 teams or whatever you believe, but it's not true as you think, not even close. And we aren't even a blue blood program, and this is what they schedule. I'd imagine it's even more difficult for us to get good teams to come here. The big difference is this 300 vs 200 RPI games and other comparable ones, 250 vs 150, etc. even by your statement earlier about us dropping what 80 spots in SOS because of one team. That's ridiculous. Because there is really some huge difference between 200 and 350 when it comes to a team of our caliber beating a team at that level.

You are right about these teams shedules but I feel like these teams operate on a different level than everyone else. They can buy any team to come to their place simply for the recognition it would give them. Their conference games also help a lot. Don’t have to load up in non conference knowing they will have 12 top 30 conference games.

Won't be more than 3, and I would say two is the most probable.

Hard to imagine this team that we have seen play, not losing more than 3 more games. Wichita, at smu, and a couple ucf type road games. I hope they don’t lose any and start playing great but based on what we have seen it’s hard to imagine

Yeah, remember the big east... that's conference affiliation for ya. I'm just trying to get to the point, not very many people play these games some of us are wanting. It's just not as realistic as some may think. What is realistic is getting some better teams in, but like you said even better bad teams want to play even better schools. It is what it is, if we win our games and play well people will recognize us.

And yeah we could totally be UNC and be losing by double digits at home to wofford right now. Haven't heard anyone talk about them not being good enough to make a run. Yet we trip up for 1/3 of a game and we are all in doubt. We play a whole season for a reason, just relax and enjoy.

And UNC is getting literally every call in this game, hard to think refs don't favor a particular team after watching stuff like this.

Sorry, no way NBA or Evans nor Clark.

Yeah I mean I don't even know what to say to you then just wait and see. Again, for sure Evans. I'm hoping Clark too. Evans will get in through the draft as well. Whether it's this year or next year.

Ok, if youre right about this then just assume we have a 6 seed and move on. Focus more on how we are looking and if we are getting hot at the right time. If we are looking good and playing some of our best basketball at the end of the year we should be able to make a run as a 6 seed or so.

Do you actually believe some of this stuff? You are working yourself up into a fever. I am starting to picture Marlon Brando in a tent in Apocalypse Now only with a laptop and 87 basketball tabs open at one time.

We are going to have to do very well in conference and we should. It's all going to be okay. If we miss the protected seed it's not the end of the world. If the season ended today we wouldn't have a very good resume...but two thirds of the season remains and lots of good BB games to play.

No doubt we have a slim margin of error for a protected seed. I think most of us concede that point. But I also think this team has a much better chance to succeed even (if we get a 6 seed) than we did last year. We didn't do ourselves any favors in non con...we get it.

Thank you...Hub is going to have a panic attack and literally ruining every fans chance of enjoying the season.

Sure and nothing I’ve said even mentions the quality of our team. We can make a run from any seed but I’m just angry that the administration put us in this situation where we are so reliant on this 4 game stretch and only 1 is at home to protect ourselves. Xavier has not so great SOS right now either and yet they will ranked nearly 200 spots higher than us by the time this game is over.

Like they made next years schedule great but next year we could be a much worse team.

I wanted to go all in on this team

I feel like we’re gonna have to start 11-0 in the conference to feel really good. We can afford to lose a game to @SMU and that’s it in our first 12 games. Zero slip ups for 12 games ain’t gonna be easy
