That win by WVU was impressive. They dominated a stacked Kansas team. Their press was fun to watch. Remember when WVU went to the NIT like 2 or 3 seasons ago? Huggins had his two top leading scorers transfer to Mich St and NC St. Fans were pissed at that. Huggins was quoted saying that was that best thing that happened to his team. They stopped playing "me" ball and started playing "we" ball. Good for them.

Yeah, Huggs recruited players a few years back to play in the Big East, and then got moved to the Big 12, a completely different brand of basketball. He took his lumps for a few years and I think everyone assumed that he was losing his edge and would just fade away. Now, he has Big 12 type players and Huggs is doing what Huggs does....win. I watched that game as well and Kansas wasn't really in it and never looked like the better team. His players are athletic and quick, and bring the intensity. They are fun to watch....everything that we aren't. And, WVU goes 10 deep and Huggs said he would like to go 12 deep. If you can build a program like that in Morgantown, it should be possible in Cincinnati. Oh, that's right, we do have a team like that here in Cincinnati. It's X.

The interesting question is if we find our way into the Big 12, how will our elite athletes transition over to that league? How long will it be before we're dominating the Big 12?

Those are good questions. I would think we would be competitive but have a few mediocre seasons. To add to your statements and questions...

it goes back to the major elephant in the room. The AAC is holding UC back. If we could get into a Power 5, better recruits would come since we are back on solid ground. I think it has def helped Xavier and while the BE isn't what it use to be,its still a strong basketball conference. UC is losing recruits to Providence, SJ, Xavier, Marquette. It's reality. I seriously don't think a conference expansion is going to happen and we are screwed.

You forget that we were in the greatest basketball conference of all time and Cronin still got the same kind of players we get today. I don't think it's the league. I think it is the coach.

The argument could be made we get better recruits now than when we were in the BE right?

Clark, Evans, and Cumberland are a step above what we were getting.

Dude. when we were in the big east, we were still in the long rebuilding process.

Now were in the shitty american and were getting much better recruits because the program continues to develop.

Are we ever going to be Kentucky? No way. Were alwasy generally going to get players that need development.

But yeah, were starting to get offensive players like jenifer, evans, cumberland, and we landed a good transfer like Kyle Washington to come play for us.

We also got Gary and Quadri who both were espn top 100 if I remember correctly. We had Jermaine Lawrence who was ESPN top 100 (and turned out to be a dud no matter who coached him). We getting good recruits now and our best years are in front of us with these new guys leading the way

We could copy and paste this every year.

Cronin's best classes were in his first few years on the job. This statement about the new guys leading the ways is a broken record that is way played out.

Cronin's classes have not been highly ranked in a long time. Why do you think we end up with so many damn juco's year after year.

Iowa just curb stomped Michigan State in East Lansing with Valentine back to complete the season sweep. They were up 22 at the half and won by 17. They were 9 point underdogs LOL.

i wonder if louisville and pitt fans are shitting all over their coaches because of how ugly it was.

i'd bet like 10 blowhards who think the world of themselves and their opinions probably feel that way.

and i bet there's a largely silent majority that approaches it rationally.

I can tell you right now that Pitt fans ARE shitting all over their coach and Jamie Dixon is more accomplished than Mick Cronin.

I'm sure there's probably some L'Ville fans that shit on Pitino but those people would be morons. The guys taken them to multiple Final 4's and a National Championship.

If Mick had those kinds of results no one would shit on him......not sure why that's so hard for people to understand.
