Kentucky escapes in OT. Something tells me this one and done thing isn't the way to build a great team. Nothing wrong with a guy or two but a roster full of that kind of turnover, just don't see the chemistry. Same with duke this year.

Malik Monk was a monster tonight. I feel like we could run with them but monk makes sooo many contested 3s. I want us to beat a team on that level in the tournament this year.

I think we match up well against KY. The teams that give us the most trouble are usually the ones that create space and are great passers. I believe we could go head to head with any of the isolation-type teams this year.

Yeah but him and fox are all they have sometimes they're definitely great players, no denying that. I think we are a better team than they are. If we would have had the scoring options we do this year we would have beat them in the tourney two years ago and that was a better team for them. I hate UK so I am biased, but I would call them a top level team this year, not consistently.

His shots splash in. He has enuf arc. Like JC added. Anything can happen in tourney, and I am enjoying every sec of reg season.
But we are sweet 16 - E-8 good.

I hate UK and don't like the one and done situation, but it's hard to say it hasn't worked for them. An elite 8, 4 final fours, and a title since Calipari has taken over.

Plus, Duke won a title with one and dones.

It works, I hate it, but it doesn't always work. Villanova won the title last season with a group that had all 5 starters were once top-100 recruits.

I never said anything about top 100 recruits, and I even said one or two is fine, I.e. Duke. And what calipari is selling, they've missed the tourney as many times as they've won a title in the last 7 years. i just don't think it's a way to maintain consistent success.

Duke had 3 one and dones on that championship team.

I'd say an Elite Eight, 4 Final Fours, and a Championship in 8 years is pretty consistent.

Like I said, I hate UK but I can't deny they've been the best program since 2010 and it pains me to admit that.

As a fan, it would be tough to be a fan of UK in terms of getting to know the players and watching them develop over 4 years. Like UK Fans only have Cal as the consistent thing about the program. They have to learn about and root for new players every single year.

Sure they win a lot and it's exciting to watch. But being a UK fan is like rooting for the house to win at black jack.

I like a strong program that develops players. Villanova and jay wright are the epitome of that. In my opinion the best coach in basketball currently.

I will give cal credit though. He is by far the best at coaching young superstars. Coach K proved he can recruit like cal but UK product on the court seems to consistently better.

And no matter how up and down the regular season is for UK. They are a terrible matchup for anyone who draws them in the tourney.

I sadly have to admit I grew up a UK fan in the 90's. I'm from Kentucky and all my friends are obsessed with UK. It's pretty gross.

I gave up UK a long time ago and the entire state of Kentucky as well.

If it wasn't for the arrogance of their fans, I might not hate them so much

Pretty much sums up how I feel about Uk. Their fans are so annoying because UK Hoops is all they have down there.

True it's their fans that keep me rooting against them also. Kentucky basketball fans are arrogant just like OSU football fans. I tell Kentucky fans I work with they have a bigger salary cap than most NBA teams.

Between the two, I prefer UK BB fans over OSU FB fans. UK BB fans tend to embrace the hate from fans of other programs - they know they are the Big Guy, and act like it. OSU FB fans combine the worst aspects of frontrunning with a perpetually whiny, "why doesn't everyone love us?" attitude, like they cannot imagine why everyone everywhere doesn't root for their team.

UK BB fans have some of this problem, too, but not nearly as bad as OSU FB fans. I think Big 10 fans in general have an inferiority complex when it comes to football.
