Help Support BearcatTalk:

I think USA Today released a new bracket today and G'town was "on life support." They are 14-14, 5-10 in conference which is SECOND LAST IN THE BIG EAST. Yet, USA Today thinks they are a bubble team. How? Why? In what world is that possible? Because they beat Butler and Creighton?

I think the bubble is weak this year if G'town and Clemson are still being thrown around as possible NCAAT teams. It helps to play in a good conference but like everyone has said, you need to win, too.

I'm agreeing with you. But the big east def isn't the acc. The big east has one legit team right now and a few fringe top 25s. But hearing some people talk make it out to be a grueling schedule.

I think it's sad that perception/hype weighs more than w/l... Even if they are playing tougher teams they are still losing.
True... speaking of tough teams, UC beat Iowa State on their home floor something Baylor couldn't do today.

A lot of good things happened this week.

Iowa St wins against Baylor
Purdue loses
Duke loses twice in one week.

Opportunity is there to move up with a win tomorrow. Hopefully we don't blow it.

After today, it just proves how hard it is to win on the road.

Iowa State has played really well since they inserted that freshman center (he didn't even play in our game). They are now 11-5 in the Big 12 and trending towards a 6 or 7 seed.

If we can win tomorrow, I can see us either moving to 11 or 12 fairly easily. We should jump Duke, Florida and Purdue.

Baylor could also be jumped but less likely.

Then if we can win out next week while starting at 12, we'd have a really good chance of finishing regular season in the top 10.

That would be amazing

I think tomorrow's game is the biggest hurdle.

I think we'll handle Houston at home and I don't think UConn has enough weapons to compete.

We're a lot better than UCF, but they're unique enough that they could give us problems.

If Louisville loses today against Syracuse that will be 2 losses this week for them.

Smu beat uconn at uconn yesterday by only 8 and smu beat us so going to uconn on there senior day will be a very tough game....

Watching NKU-Valpo right now. Norse have a 7 point lead with 5 minutes to go. The arena definitely feels big time. I think many UC fans will be impressed next year.

We should play NKU every year. I want them to be good. They could take over the league if Valpo falls off without Drew.

To win 20 games this quickly in their first year eligible for the tournament is incredible. It's not like they are a senior laden team either. I just hope for their sake they can hang on to Brannen for a while.

Anyone else watch duke-unc ?

Like people bitch about our offense sometimes just standing around but Duke had just 8 assists and I wouldn't call unc offense super awesome and free flowing.

The only difference is they have more players who can attack off the bounce and it's the only aspect I feel we're missing. But next year we should get two of those Guys

I've said this many times. Every team or coach runs similar offenses. There are only so many things a team can do. The difference is the players

Also, I like our chances against both teams. They can beat us but I don't feel like the gap is that big this year between us and them

They may need to just have ESPN on TV and switch everything else to the app. And make the app available to non cable subscribers.

The day hell freezes over. ESPN is life blood to cable co's keeping their video subscribers, and it isn't even close to the #2. It needs to happen, but with their stanglehold status as a network, I honestly believe they would go down with the ship instead of move into the future...too many major players have too much to lose.

HBO was one thing when they decoupled from video subscriptions, ESPN is nationwide on even basic packages. Cable will have nothing more to sell and will finally die the death it deserves.
