Waite, I hear you. I'm just commenting from the NBA perspective. Kids straight out of HS took the NBA quality down for a years and I would hate to see that happen again.

The NBA is garbage though. I will watch key games and the Playoffs, but it really is tough to sit there and watch an entire game (even if you fast forward the commercials). No defense, minimum effort, no team chemistry... Now the exception is watching the Spurs. I'll watch them play team basketball

I hear you. That is why i suggested that if their major is going to be Professional basketball let the NBA furnish them the opportuninty in the D league. They can even pay them.

I like that. It would encourage NBA teams to fully invest in their affiliate too, instead of splitting teams in the D-league like some franchises do now.

LeBron, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Rashard Lewis, Tracy McGrady, Jermaine O'Neal, Kobe, Kevin Garnett, etc. would beg to differ. The first rounders got their shot. Of course many didn't pan out, but they might not have ever anyway. It's the late 2nd rounders right out of high school that I worry about. You shouldn't be allowed to enter the NBA as an 18-year-old and get drafted that late. Those guys get cut so frequently, and suddenly they're never heard from again. But the guys I mentioned: did they really need to go to college? Of course not.

I mean the 3 or 4 traveling steps that are allowed, the flops, the nonexistent defense, no pressing, the 200+ point games, it's pointless to watch until the 4th quarter, the Hack-a-Howard type defense, the 7 game series are too long.... Should I go on? Lol

I don't want to get into a whole thing here bc this convo isn't college vs NBA...but I'm not convinced you actually watch the games. The quality is beyond comparison. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

The problem is the rosters being filled with these kids bc of their potantial. Often times they were not getting cut. At least not right away. The NBA decided they don't want to dilute the product with players who have no immediate value. Those names you listed didn't need college...but there are literally a hundred others who did. I don't think it does anyone any good to have 1 and dones...I just don't want these kids back in the league. Overseas or d-league for at least a year imo.

Name one thing I said that would convince you of that? If you don't notice those then we must be watching different NBA games

Is there anyone that thinks this Kentucky team is good for college bball? I'd like to hear that side of it.

I heard last night UK is the tallest team in college basketball and actually would be the tallest team in the NBA as well. They are stacked. It makes me sick.

They could easily compete and win with some of the NBA teams. Its completely ridiculous. I saw a tweet from someone saying UK looks like the Monstars from the movie Space Jam.

I'm not ready to get into the "they could compete with an NBA team" talk yet, that's just another level all together. They are good, but not sure they are that good.

They could give the 76ers a game on occasion, but that's about it. Physically, they would match up okay against an NBA team, although I have to think veteran inside players could out-muscle 18- and 19-year-olds. However, the overall skill level and experience of an NBA team would still overwhelm them.

Akron beat USC by 20 and Elijah Stewart had 0 points and 5 fouls.

Wow! Probably premature to say this, but he might've moved up so high in the rankings because he took forever to pick a school. Wouldn't be shocked if he didn't end up being that great.

SMU down at half to Indiana.

Also, WVU looks incredible. They were picked 7th in the Big 12. they look better than that to me.
