Attendance

MDW, and I'm not putting you in this category, the majority of people that do not attend do so for 3 reasons. Mick Cronin, Bob Huggins, and bitterness at the administration. That is not me saying that it is the people themselves.

Read the Enquirer posts and listen to talk radio. I have personally had no less than 10 people tell me they hope UC loses every game because of what happened to Huggs and they want Mick gone. I don't want it to be that way. It simply is. A guy I know who has followed UC as long as me told me two weeks ago this very thing. He hangs with a group of guys who feel the same way. I won't even visit one Bearcat site anymore because it's hard to tell it's pro Bearcats.

I'm sure there are other reasons but the largest segment falls in the group I mentioned. If UC can win and sustain it I think it will bring some healing. You are right we should highlight the positive. I just feel very passionately about this subject. I never meant to offend you personally.

That just is not true. The people that aren't attending because of BH and AK are a very, very, very small minority.

This team had a pretty good attendance record for big games last year. Do you think they decided to forget about BH, AK and decided to put aside their hate for Mick to come out to those games? No, they came out because it was against good competition and for the most part UC was still in the NCAA hunt.

Plain and simple. Win and fans will come out.

I agree. I dont think BH or AK supporters are all that strong now. I was at games last year where 13,000 fans packed in. If we continue to win that place will get full when UConn, Gtown, cuse, U of L come in.

Winning takes care of the harshest critics. They have won 19 and 18 games respectfully the past two seasons. Not great but not horrible either. They were in the NCAA hunt till Feb. the past 2 seasons. I would rather be wrong than right in this and hope I am. Cincinnati sports fans are a fickle breed in general. Let's hope and believe this is the season it all turns around. They have to find a way to get students to attend as well.

That is my biggest concern.

Yea, the students are a whole 'nother issue. But you can't blame the students. If they aren't going it's because they have other stuff that they prefer over attending games. UC has to make it so attending the games is more attractive than the students' other options. But seeing as the students don't produce any revenue other than concessions, UC is probably focusing more on the paying customer.

As much as we all want to see 5/3 arena rocking right now, it is really inconsequential.

We've breezed through the OOC home slate with ease. While attendance is disappointing, it's important that butts are in the seats for the games that really matter and will elevate this team to an NCAA bid.

If the X game + every BE home game is crowded (10,000 plus), and the fans are into the game, I will be pleased. A true home court advantage can help this team knock off some of the big dogs in our conference.

Perhaps the half time show should be a dunk contest featuring the greatone
