Bearcat players accused in nightclub altercation

The point is there is now officially a witness to the events to (presumably) corroborate McLucas's allegations

I will believe there is a witness when one comes forward. All those people in the club and not a peep from one person besides the bouncer. Until I hear the "boyfriend" or anyone else say something, it is only this guy ranting.

Who though? PLAY said no workers witnessed the incident.

To me, it would come down to Wessel who according to McLucas would have been right there.

Let me say I find it highly unlikely this turns into much of anything. No one is talking about it besides us on message boards.

If someone is charged than I will adjust my opinion.

He also no longer works at PLAY. He said he gave his 2 weeks previous to incident. This may play a factor in PLAYS willingness to hurt there reputation and possibly get into trouble for a former employee.

The biggest question I have to his story is the timing he said this took place. We all know bars close at 2:30 and most stop serving alcohol at 2:00. Many almost push you out of the door at these times. He said the UC players were inadvertantly at the wrong table and drinking someone else's alcohol. He said he asked the guys to move to the right spot and then he got blindsided. He said these events happened around 2:15. Hmmmmm......now I ain't no expert but if I pay for VIP and bottle service (which I have done) I show up to my table well before closing time. And if I came up to a table and someone else was there and refused to move to where I got management involved (which I would) I kind of think I would witness a fight that would take place at my VIP area.

No one knows what happened. We are all Bearcat fans and want this story to be untrue. We all have biased opinions on what happened to protect our beloved Bearcats. I agree with greatone, if someone did something they shouldn't have they should have to pay the consequences. As far as FOX 19 is concerned they were asked to cover a story and they did it. They get paid to report news. People spend money on tabloids that are known to be made up and fake. Some of us fans spend money to get inside information on high school kids and what they are thinking. I have no issue with FOX 19 reporting this. They didn't release names. Perhaps they didn't because they don't think the story is credible, but this guy did accuse UC players of a crime and that in and of itself is a story in todays media frenzy. I would hope Fox 19 would be the first to report facts in any way if this story turns out to be false.

Premium information on Rivals UC site, bearcatreport.com

Andrew Force had the details. I dont subscribe but I like Andrew way more than the other pay sites.

I would discourage anyone from wasting their time and money reading the crap that force guy writes. He is constantly throwing darts. I mean on recruiting or anything, such as a story like this. I have very good information about this situation and it amounts to nothing. This force guy puts a tease out last night saying five players were involved and that UC fans should worry when everything comes out. Well, there is nothing to come out on this. It was BS from the start. Don't worry about what he writes. If you are going to pay for something, I would join Bearcatlair(That is not a cheap plug, I just find them very good with news and articles and I have nothing to do with that site other than being a member). Anyway, this thing has gone to bed. Now Mick needs to sing Obekpa!

You get that with any pay site. They get pressure to provide inside news. BCL had a huge story that many sites ran with about UC getting into the Big 12. They are throw stuff and hope it sticks.

It was amazing how often sites like BCT and BCN beat BCL to the punch on breaking recruiting news.

Only thing they are good for are interviews with recruits (which I do not care for) and practice updates.

It's really stupid in this current age to pay for information about UC football or basketball. Although I'm glad some of you do. Because human nature is to read it on a paysite and then run to a non-pay site and spill the beans. News travels fast. Most of the "secret" information the pay sites post has gone public within hours. So unless you can't wait one or two hours, then go ahead and pay.

I can wait an hour or two. No big deal.

He says he has witnesses but no one has supported this. If the GM backs his story than we will have something. If the GM doesnt I dont see where there is much of a case.

I am not looking to defend actions of somebody who punches another guy but you keep saying a witness has come forward.

They may come foward but your link only suggests that the bouncer claims he has a witness. There is no quote or information that suggest that someone has come foward and supported the claims. It may happen but of coarse the bouncer says he has witnesses.

All I have seen is the bouncer say he has witnesses and the main one being the GM. I saw an article that said no other workers claimed to have seen the incident. The bouncer claims to be able to identify one player.

When a witness comes forward and puts his name to it then I think the police will be able to move foward with a misdameanor assualt charge and UC can discipline as they see fit. Until then, it is just the bouncers word against the player.

Yea, the guy that was identified is Kenny Frease! LOL!

This entire incident, in my opinion, is a farce. When the only media outlet covering it, Channel 19, is the lowest rated news cast station, and May just happens to be sweeps month when advertising rates get set, it certainly appears that this is a ratings grab trying to make a story out of something that is not a story.

How about a new poll, what will come first a witness to the supposed UC bar brawl goes public or Chris Obeka (sic) makes a decision on where to play basketball?
