Folks we lost 3 key seniors last year. We have a YOUNG talented team with many moving parts. We will be much better at the end of the year then at the beginning. Lets not draw to many conclusions from the first exihibiton game. This team will look entirely different by end of year.

So you sat right behind me and didn't say hello???

haha. I wasnt sure if that was you or not. I guess I could have just said something being right or wrong. But yep. I was front and center. Bill Koch right in front of me and the Phillips brothers to the left. I knew my uncle knew people, but I didnt know he was friends with Dan Hoard. Which is pretty cool

Dan is a great dude...

Not that it was ever in question but nobody should ever compare Mick to Tom Crean again. His program is in shambles and he is in danger of missing the tournament for fifth time in seven years.

Sorry for random post

I have no problem with you having an opinion; I had just never heard someone grade Dixon's defense that harshly. I disagree is all. He wasn't Immanuel McElroy out there, but he was definitely above average to me.

Humor me. I've been watching Jimmy Fallon "EW" videos on youtube and your "Really...?" comment made me think of it.

I really am expecting Mormon to be the next Immanuel McElroy though. Mick has praised him as such. (not his exact words, just my interpretation)

I believe he compared him to Tarrice Gibson in an interview

I don't think anyone is drawing conclusions on the year. People are posting their observations. It'd be a pretty dull board if people didn't do that after a game.

We also have 2 seniors and a redshirt Junior that should have learned that they will be key for this years team. Hopefully they learned and show leadership and set examples for the younger guys.

What a GREAT get we had with Ellis! Talk about filling an immediate need with above average talent. Not a bad back up plan with De Barry. Add to that we seem to have some college ready PF's to boot. Moore will do just fine offensively...so hopefully he can keep up on D. Obviously Clark was tentative but his confidence will grow and we've heard all the rave reviews on him. Strickland may be a year or two away...who knows.

Mormon is going to be one of my favorite players without a doubt! He's going to have some unbelievable dunks before it's all said and done. His defense is going to allow him to get some solo fast breaks and he's a good slasher. Cobb looked pretty good too...he's not tentative and was able to create his own shot.

We know what we have with the veterans so not too worried about a bad game from some of them. We will have plenty of options if a player goes on a cold streak.

Excellent shooting percentages last night: 54.4% FG, 36.8% 3's, 77.3% FT. 4 guys in double figures, 11 guys contributing. 2-3 deep at every position. Immediate impact freshmen/transfers. What's not to like? Very excited for this season.

I think Cobb's playing time will be sporadic at times, but I think he will have a major impact in certain games. I think he's the kind of guy who might only play 8-10 minutes a lot of nights, but there will be a few games this season where he is called upon to come in and give us a spark and will put up 10-15 points off the bench.

big surprises for me, cobb is the quickest person on our team, moore is a lot better then I thought he was going to be, That being said everybody besides ellis needs to be better defensively.

going to be a log jam at the guard positions, this is by far the deepest team ever under Cronin.

What I love what the numbers is they wetet junk baskets. Meaning they weren't missing a ton of shots around the rim and just getting their misses. They made them the first try. Something we have been lacking for a long time.
