Big East expanding

And this is going to stabalize the conference??? LOL. Any of the remaining football schools will bolt as soon as a reasonable alternative is offered. The basketball side of the conference is also infinitely worse with these additions. Let's hope our administration isn't stupid enough to think that is a conference that can be saved and they are working the phones to make sure that a Big12 invitation is on the way.

UC is working to keep the Big East together, that is UC's (and UofL's and WVU's) best option.

Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State will leave the Big 12, they all already have one foot out of the door. The Big 12 is going to replace them with the likes of SMU, Houston, Tulane, Rice. The Big 12 will end up Conference USA regurgitated.

Sorry Ralph but I can't even take you seriously anymore man. Are you kidding? Are you just trying to get a rise out of everyone?

Sorry Ralph, can't say I agree with you. This just occurred today: "The Big 12 board of directors agreed to a formal grant of television rights for a minimum of six years. The approval of the board on that vote was unanimous, with Missouri abstaining on the advice of legal counsel. As soon as the individual schools sign the contracts that interim commissioner Chuck Neinas sent out today, the deal will be final, equal revenue-sharing of Tier 1 and Tier 2 television rights will kick in, and the Big 12 will become a much more stable entity. (At least for six years.)"

Nobody in the Big 12 is going anywhere for at least 6 years. Big 12 with their TV deal will remain strong and most likely the second best football conference (behind the SEC).

Did you read where it states none of the schools have signed? Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State will not sign until Missouri signs. If Missouri does not sign it is Katie bar the door for the other four.

The dominoes will continue to fall. Imo Missouri will join the SEC and there will be further fallout in the Big East. It is past time for UC to start lobbying to join another conference. The BEast will not be a viable football conference and E.Carolina, and the military academies are poor replacements for what's lost. Why they aren't courting Temple and going hard after Central Florida along with Memphis is beyond me. It is a step down but not as far as they're currently falling.

UC and Louisville are committed to keeping the Big East together. The Big 12 would be a geographic nightmare for both. How many statements must the UC President and interim AD release for you to believe them?

We've all heard statements from other schools Ralph. A week ago TCU said they were commited and they've been lobbying to join the Big 12 for months per ESPN radio. If UC has another choice and stays in this conference they are idiots and the president should be fired. There is a huge wave taking place. You ride it or drown. UC will drown in the Little East.

Where's todays statement from UL that they are committed to the BE? If UL is invited to be the tenth team in the B12, do you think that they will turn it down. Pitino lamented today that this may be the last year of the BE tourney at MSG, so we should all enjoy it. He said that UL has remained loyal to the BE, but where has it gotten them? Likely with no place to go (his words). Do you think that he is still 100% committed. The B12 may be a geographic nightmare for UL and UC, but staying in the BE may be athletic suicide. Which one would you prefer?

It simply makes long term sense to stay relevant. If an invite is given they have to jump. In addition, the uncertainty is not helping recruiting.

Bill Koch now reporting the Big East adding Central Florida (Orlando) and East Carolina. UC, WVU, and UofL are working hard to keep the Big East together.

Did you believe TCU when they were committed to the Big East? or how about when Texas A&M said they were committed to the Big 12? Please tell me you are not that ignorant.

The story is UC, UofL, and WVU were invited by and rejected the invite from the Big 12. TCU was actually the Big 12's 5th choice, BYU also rejected a Big 12 invite.

, “It’s one of the most disappointing things I’ve seen in 35 years in the game to see this thing break up like this. We’ve stayed loyal to it all along. We’ve stayed loyal, and by staying loyal we’re not sure what’s going to happen to us.” - Rick Pitino

Listen up UC. Where's your future? Word is Louisville was the next preference behind TCU. What are the Bearcats options and are you selling yourself!!!!!!
