A year ago the Bearcats lose a game like this. They showed a lot of mental toughness in dominating ot after blowing the lead. That's progress and now they know they can win in those situations and that means something. They are 21-0 when leading at half and that says something as well.
But to lumberjacks point it is a bad habit and it will bite them at some point. They have to eliminate that habit. Teams will make runs. You have to stop the bleeding and close a game out up by 16.
Still 21-6 and 8-6 and fighting for one bye in the BEast tournament. Gotta like that.

Good point. There is good and bad to take away from this game for sure. I would much rather learn from a win than a loss though.
BCat jeff, I trust your opinion more than most because of posts like this. Thank you. In the end this was a great win, but it does show so issues with this team a well.

I liked a lot of this game, intensity from the start, lots of hustle from almost the entire team, and they didn't fold at the end; came on strong in OT.
Things I didn't like, breaking the press in the second and not taking it to the basket to at least draw a foul, instead, we pass the ball around until we either throw it away or shoot a desperation shot. Maybe I am wrong, but this team at times seems to be offensively challenged and maybe attacking the basket.[like we did in OT] might be the better strategy instead of what we did in the second half.
Gates drives me nuts, he played a good game at times and at other times seemed to be spaced out; examples are when he didn't box out on a free throw and Prov guy just moved by him to pick up the ball or when he rambled down the floor on both offense and defense. BUT, then he makes 2 shots in the paint and plays better, frustrating to say the least.
Bottom line is we won and I will take that anytime or any way.

is anybody else excited with Jackson's shot blocking ability/potential? It is so refreshing to see a kid with the quick hops on defense, back in a Bearcat uniform. It seems like it has been many years since the Cats had a threatening shot blocker (for example; Hicks, Martin or even Little). Jackson seems to be a very talented kid, and with his motor, he is going to be a hell of a player with more experience.

I agree. And, he has started to show some moves on offense too. I think he will be a really good player for this team in the years to come. He already adds a lot. He is not a great free throw shooter but his shot doesn't look too bad. It will be a big help if he can develop a 15-17 foot jumper. We could run the offense through him at the high post with his passing ability. He is going to be an exciting player for this team in the near future.

Great game. I thought the Cats did a better job being patient with their shots. Even though it went into overtime, the team didnt panic or fold. That to me is progress. Keep it going Cats.

Great game. Good to see the Cats not panic in overtime. Showed progress. I think this win put us into the touney IMO. We will see.

I hate to say it, but between about 3-5 posters on here are really ruining this site for me. Its the same stupid stuff all the time. I'm sure most don't care about what I have to say on the topic, I just hope the mods take notice that this site is going downhill for some of us.

UC is 21-6, 8-6 in the Big East, beat X 66-46, went 4-0 against the regions teams (X, Miami, Dayton, Wright St.). Where are the negatives in these facts?
