Tuberville: I knew this was going to be a tough year. Thought we'd play better on offense, running it. We're not as fast, quick on offense

He knew this season would be tough because year 4 is the first year he'd be playing with only his guys on the roster and he's well aware that his recruiting has been abysmal.

Is he trying to get fired at this point? Get this clown out of my face.

First things first.
We need a strong President at UC to set the tone. Is there another Santo out there? We have a very good AD with excellent communication skills and leadership abilities. He very much needs the support of a new President to move things forward. Once in place, the President can dictate the qualities we are looking for in the athletics program.......like Santo did and like the guy down the road in Cincinnati does for that other school in town.
Then we go after a strong, young, energetic coach to take the program back on the trajectory set by Dantonio, Kelly and Jones.
This will happen.........be patient.[/QUOTE

Is the next coach going to be able to recruit at the same level as Dantonio, Kelly, and Jones. They were in the Big East then. Presently, UC is not in a Power 5 Conference.
Didn't think about that, good point. I am just so focused on wanting a hungry, energetic coach like Dantonio/Kelly/Jones were when they arrived at UC. Those guys were fun to watch coach and they brought in some solid, fundamental talent at many positions....we need another coach like those guys....even if they are handicapped by being in the AAC.
I think Tubs greatest strength is his ability to find JUCOs all over the country and transfers due to his contacts from 80 years of coaching. But he has not recruiting freshman well here.

The thing that stood out to me when these guys were coaching were the development of our players. All these coaches could turn a 2* athlete into a legitimate D1 player. Marty Gilyard went from a kid who was living in his car being a problematic player, to one of the most lethal receivers and return men in the nation. Tommy hasn't had many break out players that really developed under him. Yes, our wide receivers last year were unreal, but they were not recruited by Tommy and came in when Kelly was here. All these coaches brought in an electric excitement to the game, we were NEVER out of any games we played. We thrived under pressure and would play the final quarters of every game like it was the Super Bowl. With Tommy we have not seen that, we play well at first, just to fail in the 4th. Yes, we were in the Big East at the time, but people act like the Big East was a powerhouse. The Big East was a more well rounded league, but the AAC has done similar to what teams were doing in the Big East. Usually 1-3 teams in the top 25, and every once in awhile a team would win a major bowl game. I think the thing UC needs most at this time is something to believe in and strive for. With the Big 12 out of the way, our goal needs to be to dominate the AAC and make those in the Big 12 regret not inviting us. Tommy needs to stop making it seem acceptable for us to finish in the middle of the pack in the AAC. With the history of our program, and the amount of resources we have, it should be a bust of a season to not be in the running for AAC champs every single year. With the Big 12 in our rear view mirrors, we need to find a young enthusiastic coach that gives Bearcat football an identity again. We have invested way too much money in this program to settle for 6-4 seasons. Change is needed, and hopefully is occurs sooner than later. The longer we allow ourselves to play this boring, unmotivated style of football, the longer it will take us to get out of this slump we are in.

Before anyone rips me, yes the Big East was much better, but that doesn't give us the excuse not to recruit and play well in the AAC.

It's a straight embarrassment to the university. Some form of punishment or apologies need to happen. No matter what is said, a head coach should never verbal insult fans, especially out loud....

Completely agree. Embarassing doesn't even do this justice. It has me thinking: is something like thisa violation of contract? There has to be some language in the contract where the coach must uphold the "highest standards of being a public employee" yada yada yada.
If so, ill dance naked in my living room and drink a bourbon and its only 8am EST on the Lords Day.

Prayers up!

I am extremely disappointed in many ways. I am disappointed in the football season in general. Four of our five defeats were at the hands of pretty good teams--Houston, BYU, South Florida, and Temple. UConn was terrible. I am disappointed in this because it has turned some UC fans into mean spirited individuals clamoring for the head of TT on a platter. Yes, it comes with the territory, but isn't it a shame? I sometimes wonder how the people banging the drum would react if they had a "job" like TT and people wanted their scalp? I am sure when Coach T leaves Cincinnati, he will be leaving with a bad taste in his mouth, not about the University, but about the people and fans of the Bearcats. I feel bad for our coach.

If I had a job like TT I would realize I wasn't being paid millions of dollars to fail. Unlike most of us, if he were to be fired he would never have to work again of of what he has already made. If the regular employee were to fail or deliver awful work they would also be in the hot seat. But I have no sympathy for a millionaire who is a failure.

Go to Hell. Get a job.

My problem with Tubs is not personal. He has a tough job. The changing league dynamics haven't helped his cause. But I draw the line on loyalty to a coach based on one flaw: LACK OF EFFORT.
!. UC has finished in the middle of the pack, or lower, in the AAC recruiting battle for the entire Tubs era. LACK OF EFFORT.
2. Tubs players have not improved over the course of any of his seasons. In fact, they get worse over the course of a season. LACK OF EFFORT.
3. Tubs teams get out scored in the second half by a huge margin. LACK OF EFFORT.
4. Tubs coaches on game day by standing 20 yards away from the team with his headphones on. Doesn't participate in team huddles at timeouts, doesn't greet players coming off the field after big plays or defensive stands or offensive drives for scores......he just stands there.....no on the field leadership. LACK OF EFFORT.
He is one of the highest paid coaches at the mid-major level. If he was working in the private sector and illustrated such a LACK OF EFFORT he would be fired.

You need a tissue, brother?

I have a job that pays less than 5 percent of what Tuberville makes and I run the risk of losing it everyday unless I do what is expected of me. He put himself in the public eye so it comes with the territory. And trust me I go to my job and cuss out someone publically like that and I cost my company so much in lost revenue because I can't do my job correctly I'd be fired. You coming on here and defending him at this point is only embarrassing for you. So seriously, time to fess up. You've been asked repeatedly. How can you still blindly support him? All your posts defend him and attack other posters, yet in your defense of him you give no opinion or support into how you believe on him. I mean logic only dictates he's family or a personal friend so you have a natural reason to blindly support him. So what gives. You literally are the only person in this city that supports him. I can agree all day that he has a tough job and dealing with public criticism is tough and unfair at times. But it's exactly what he signed up for. To cuss out a fan...a fan who in all honesty pays his salary and to belittle him saying get a job and to tell him to go to hell, only makes him as bad as any person publically criticizing him if you really want to be real. So by your own logic of calling out fans, why do you not call him out at this point, trying to publically humiliate someone who pays his salary? Seriously what's your agenda?

First--let it be known, I do not know Coach TT. I have never met him, and I am not his only supporter. In my previous post, I never said he was great or even why he should continue to be the coach of UC. I only spoke in generalities of being a head coach, how tough the job is under the scrutiny of the fans, and how vicious they can be. I have been there, and done that!

By the way, how do you guys feel about Mark Dantonio and Brian Kelly? Michigan State is 2-7 and lost 7 in a row, and ND is 3-6. I say, throw the bums out. What say you?

This is about Tubbs and UC. Those coaches accomplished more for UC and their current schools than Tubbs has for UC.

Tubbs has improved nothing for UC football....nothing. His results are poor. That is a fact and not just my opinion. He hasn't increased fan support. He hasn't improved recruiting. He hasn't won an outright conference title. He hasn't outperformed his predecessors.

He has spoken poorly to his fan base. Spoke poorly of his players. Blamed fans for losing....even a schools band for being to loud. He sucks...and I will be happy as hell when he is fired.

I am an alum that has spent a lot of money on UC Athletics in my lifetime. I can't wait until my money starts going towards a better coaching staff.

Everyone needs to get over it he is what he is and will be here till dec 7? When ever his buyout goes down. We will probably lose the next 3, there's no since coming on here after every loss and complaining about the same stuff every game....

Mike Bohn's email. I'm sure it gets filtered through someone else but I encourage anyone and everyone to email him and let him know directly your displeasure with this program. I just sent a long, respectful message to him. And luckily I'll get the chance to see and talk to him personally on Friday at the town hall meeting. I love this university too much to sit idly by and watch Tuberville "lead" this program.

I'm sure Bohnhead knows the fans are unhappy. The real question is do we have the money to pull the trigger. At this point I don't see any way he comes back but you never know...
