By the way, how do you guys feel about Mark Dantonio and Brian Kelly? Michigan State is 2-7 and lost 7 in a row, and ND is 3-6. I say, throw the bums out. What say you?

Frankly, I don't give a shit one way or another.

Mike Bohnhead just issued his response.

What a clown this guy is too. Leadership at the top level can get out of my face too!

I've never had an issue with Bohn until this. Why he would jump on a sinking ship is beyond me. You don't even have to throw him under the bus, but to apologize for him? Unacceptable. Again:

Voice your opinions. Might not amount to anything, but better than complaining on here.

TT needed to give a public apology. Instead, we have an AD justifying his actions... unbelievable. I am so upset and confused. They are completely alienating this fan and donor base. This town hall meeting on Friday will be good. As long as spineless Bohn doesn't cancel it first..

Completely agree. I'm absolutely appalled Bohn would essentially apologize for Tuberville. I mean issuing a statement the day after means you have time and multiple heads to come up with a statement. I didn't expect him to fire him today, even though they should, but to defend him? I might need to fire an email to the BOT and interim president at this point. I hope too they don't cancel this thing on Friday. It will be open season on Bohn and Tuberville. I'm so upset as a fan and donor today.

I'll be there. Will you be there to shoot your mouth off?

he released a bullshit statement a bit ago if anyone cares to grab a pooper scooper and plop it into the thread

I will..... I have a lot of questions to ask Bohn. Specifically about the head football coach, and now his gutless response to that head coach telling a paying customer to go to hell and to get a job. Bohn essentially made an excuse for his behavior. The lack accountability and leadership is staggering. TT is 11-12 in his last 23 games (4 of those wins are against two FBS teams and two wins against Miami), 1-5 in the AMERICAN conference, hasnt scored a touchdown in 6 quarters, and these are just the highlights. A deeper dig into the numbers show how bad the trend is under Tubs. He deserves every bit of criticism he receives right now. His reaction was that of a head coach that has come unhinged. It was beyond inappropriate and borderline fireable offense. The relationship with the fans can not be repaired at this point. He should and will be fired on December 8th. I just want to know what the f*ck Mike Bohn was thinking with that response. He made the situation 1000x worse. I'm going to ask him what was the purpose of his response because it was one of the more tone deaf stupid PR blunders I have seen. It was embarrassing if you ask me.

Are fans allowed to yell anything they want, at the coach, just because they bought a ticket?

Within reason..... absolutely! What was being yelled at Tubs was, "Tommy you are stealing from the university!" Obviously a very unhappy fan with the performance of the coach after an 87 million dollar renovation and his hefty salary. It was not out of line whatsoever. Tuberville however was completely out of line to yell that to a paying customer. Tubs would not have that hefty salary if not for those fans. He is 60 years old. He should know by now if you lose like he is losing at Cincinnati you are going to get shit thrown at you. You understand where it is coming from and why it is happening. You brush it off and get back to work. He took the bait and had a watershed moment as the head coach at the University of Cincinnati. His tenure effectively ended last night.

nice straw man.

let's answer a relevant question: are fans allowed to yell at the coach and express disapproval and criticism? absolutely.

Quit being a joke. Wake up and realize that the program is going in the wrong direction and the shit coach is the one taking it there.

This is year 4. These are his players. He has a brand new stadium. He is the highest paid non-P5 coach. He isn't beating UConn in football.

Should a coach keep his job if this is his performance?

I'll give this perspective...

I left the game when the timeout was called before the field goal, so I missed the exchange after the game. But I sit in the third row of that section with my family, and have done so for many many years. The same can be said for almost everyone in that section. We are passionate UC football fans with many of us having traveled many times to away games and bowl games. Generally, while being loud and cheering enthusiastically, we are still well mannered and do not yell anything but encouraging words toward the players and coaches. In fact, I don't remember the fan in question yelling anything negative during the whole game, or at any other time in any other games. When the team left the field at halftime, and walked under our section, many of us (along with many others in the crowd) did boo the decision not to try and score before the half. After all they did have 48 seconds and all time outs left. There were some words spoken toward TT, mainly questioning that decision not to try and score and about his desire to let the team play....but NONE of them where profane, mean spirited, or derogatory toward him personally. NONE of them.

The remarks made toward him AFTER the game are TAME in comparison to what I have heard many other coaches (even at the HS level) have hurled at them. As others have said, it's part of the job. Heck, I've heard worse things said to the VOLUNTEER officers in CLUBS I belong to.

BUT....we aren't talking about a pattern of behavior here from TT, at least in regards to using profanity or having direct conflict with fans. He has expressed his attitude toward the fan base in the past, and not in a very flattering fashion, but he hasn't been mean or directed his comments at any single person when doing so. I don't see the need to fire him immediately over THIS incident. I think his performance and lack of success over the last two years is reason enough, and he should finish out the season before being allowed to resign. Let's have some class...more than he has shown...and let him leave on his own terms AFTER the season.

I'd be all for that if I thought he would resign. I don't think he will. In which case, I think Bohn should make the change. This team gets out played and out coached on a near weekly basis. I think the 2nd half differential in our losses is like 91-6! Halftime is when scheme adjustments are made. Clearly, we're getting out coached in these adjustments.

I liked the hire when it was announced, but it's clear TT isn't getting it done.

Time for a change.

Go Cats!

I do believe that he WILL resign, but I think that it will still entail UC kicking some money his way. IMO it will come down to how much money is he willing to give up so that he can "resign" and save some of his dignity v being "fired" and shown the door. Either way, I think UC will have a new head coach before the new year comes.

I agree with you, I think resignation is the most likely scenario at this point. Some sort of mutually agreed upon separation in which TT still gets a portion of his buyout and maybe remains with the University in some advisory capacity.

By all accounts TT is a good guy and is very highly regarded within the University so I wouldn't be surprised if he remains in some capacity.

One way or another there is no chance he is still coaching this football team next season. I know our administration has been terrible for a while but there is no chance they're stupid enough to leave this guy in place for another season.
