I do believe that he WILL resign, but I think that it will still entail UC kicking some money his way. IMO it will come down to how much money is he willing to give up so that he can "resign" and save some of his dignity v being "fired" and shown the door. Either way, I think UC will have a new head coach before the new year comes.

I'd be shocked if he resigned. He is just as pissed at UC fans as we are at him. He is gonna coach out the season since it means nothing for the most part other than trying to keep our bowl streak alive. Then his buyout will reduce by 900k and they will fire him and pay him 1.5 million to go away or take another position. Dont think there will be any negotiation. He still wants to be the head coach. The administration cant allow that. They will sever ties with him as head coach in my opinion.

I will..... I have a lot of questions to ask Bohn. Specifically about the head football coach, and now his gutless response to that head coach telling a paying customer to go to hell and to get a job. Bohn essentially made an excuse for his behavior. The lack accountability and leadership is staggering. TT is 11-12 in his last 23 games (4 of those wins are against two FBS teams and two wins against Miami), 1-5 in the AMERICAN conference, hasnt scored a touchdown in 6 quarters, and these are just the highlights. A deeper dig into the numbers show how bad the trend is under Tubs. He deserves every bit of criticism he receives right now. His reaction was that of a head coach that has come unhinged. It was beyond inappropriate and borderline fireable offense. The relationship with the fans can not be repaired at this point. He should and will be fired on December 8th. I just want to know what the f*ck Mike Bohn was thinking with that response. He made the situation 1000x worse. I'm going to ask him what was the purpose of his response because it was one of the more tone deaf stupid PR blunders I have seen. It was embarrassing if you ask me.

Completely agree. I think I'm more upset at Bohn's response than I am Tuberville for yelling what he did. Completely inexcusable.

I think people are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. That exchange was pretty tame, neither side said anything too over the top. I agree that Tommy should have just kept walking and not said anything but it wasn't really that big of a deal.

What do you expect Bohn to do at this point? We can't part ways with TT until December 8th at the earliest, knowing we're stuck with TT until the end of the season how would you have preferred Bohn responded?

I'll give this perspective...

I left the game when the timeout was called before the field goal, so I missed the exchange after the game. But I sit in the third row of that section with my family, and have done so for many many years. The same can be said for almost everyone in that section. We are passionate UC football fans with many of us having traveled many times to away games and bowl games. Generally, while being loud and cheering enthusiastically, we are still well mannered and do not yell anything but encouraging words toward the players and coaches. In fact, I don't remember the fan in question yelling anything negative during the whole game, or at any other time in any other games. When the team left the field at halftime, and walked under our section, many of us (along with many others in the crowd) did boo the decision not to try and score before the half. After all they did have 48 seconds and all time outs left. There were some words spoken toward TT, mainly questioning that decision not to try and score and about his desire to let the team play....but NONE of them where profane, mean spirited, or derogatory toward him personally. NONE of them.

The remarks made toward him AFTER the game are TAME in comparison to what I have heard many other coaches (even at the HS level) have hurled at them. As others have said, it's part of the job. Heck, I've heard worse things said to the VOLUNTEER officers in CLUBS I belong to.

BUT....we aren't talking about a pattern of behavior here from TT, at least in regards to using profanity or having direct conflict with fans. He has expressed his attitude toward the fan base in the past, and not in a very flattering fashion, but he hasn't been mean or directed his comments at any single person when doing so. I don't see the need to fire him immediately over THIS incident. I think his performance and lack of success over the last two years is reason enough, and he should finish out the season before being allowed to resign. Let's have some class...more than he has shown...and let him leave on his own terms AFTER the season.

I sit in the front row out there and left after we didn't score with like 11 seconds left. I thought about sticking around just to yell something down to him after game but thought better of it or that mightve been me getting cussed at. I did yell down at him at halftime to him that we are Bearcats and we want to win, that he is the only one not trying to win or something to that effect. I also booed and then yelled out to the players don't worry I'm not booing you I'm booing your coach, he's not trying to win.

To me after that incident after the game that is the perfect scenario to get rid of him. You can suspend him until the end of the season and then fire him when his buyout goes down. Or find words in his contract to where he violated it and terminate him immediately with no more money being paid. While I agree with your statement this is his first such act like this and firing from the outside looking in could be a little over the top, we need to take advantage of the opportunity given. Regardless, bohn apologizing and excusing his behavior is inexcusable to me. Just issue a statement essentially saying any cliche and pc thing you want, bit don't excuse him for it. He threw that fan and the entire fan base under the bus.

I wish the fans would chant "get a job" to Tommy. Because I don't consider what he is doing at UC a job since he clearly isn't working.

I emailed Mike Bohn with a respectful note indicating my frustration with Tubby. Mike not only responded, but sent an nice note back....then I thanked him for listening and he responded back again. I'll say this, he is listening and knows the importance of alumni support!
So for those of you who have not tried to contact him, try.....you will be pleasantly surprised.

I emailed him yesterday and have not heard back. It was before his statement, so my email was polite and respectful.

I was out of town all weekend and knew nothing about this. I can't believe we still have another month of this guy. We can't get him the hell away from this program fast enough. Total embarrassment.

Cincinnati football coach Tommy Tuberville apologizes for yelling "Hey, go to hell. Get a job. Get a job!" at a fan. https://t.co/boeGKrO5N5

Gotta love this kind of publicity from a coach who is a dead man walking.

I totally agree.

I've also thought about that as a possible scenario....suspension first, firing later, and I think that IF he had said stuff like this in the past it would have been what happened. If we had a different AD things might also be different. However, we don't know what is happening behind closed doors or what kind of conversations have been happening between the parties involved that we haven't heard about.

If we had someone other than an "interim" president, would this be being handled differently? I wonder.

I saw that she is applying for the UT president job and was thinking the same thing. Pretty much guaranteed nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

The Football Four podcast talked about the Tuberville situation yesterday. They couldn't freaking believe Mike Bohn's statement. They also talked about how we have no excuse for not dominating in the AAC. They were saying we had a big advantage coming from the BE over most of the other schools that had to build up to compete in the American.

I can't wait until the day Tuberville is fired.

he is gone after the season

Tuberville just said at a press conference that the program is better than when he got here. Dude is not only an awful coach, he is delusional as well!!

On Pregame.com First Preview they do 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' every Tuesday. Bruce Marshall picked UC Football as his 'Ugly' and talked about Tuberville needing to be fired.

ESPNInsider does a ranking every week of the Top 10 Hottest Coaching Seats in CFB.

Tuberville came in this week at #3 after being previously unranked. Mark Helfrich and Charlie Strong are 1 and 2. Steve Addazio at BC and Dave Doeren at NC State round out the Top 5.

They reference the streak without a TD, losing 5 of the last 6, Tubs exchange 2 weeks ago with the fan, and the fact that we are being surpassed by other AAC programs.

The writer does think however that UC is a premier Group of 5 job and that we could attract top candidates like WKU's Jeff Brohm.

Why can't people just leave me alone?
