I'd take Brohm from Western Kentucky for sure. I don't think you have to go straight offense to be a successful G5 program though. San Diego State, BYU, Boise State, Houston, Western Michigan are all elite G5 without running straight spread. Those teams pretty much have good running games (good overall offense too but not the light speed kind). A team like South Florida has also found success with a dual-threat QB. The game is always changing, I don't want a gimmick offense bc that's tough to maintain if you are running through coaches (Oregon).

For me, it takes a guy who shows up everyday and is passionate about improvement. As long as the guy we get has big goals and lives and breathes football, I'm not as concerned with the scheme.

On the Football Four podcast they were talking about Charlie Strong being a good fit for UC. I think that'd be great for Strong, not as great for UC. I could get behind it though if it actually happened. Would still prefer others though.

Oh how I wish we had power 5 $ to get rid of this lame duck coach.

Strong's buyout for the two seasons remaining on his contract is said to be 10.7 million dollars. Goes down if he finds another job, but not reported by how much.

I can't believe that UC will ever be able to complete with that kind of money, but who can? 10.7 million! That's just nuts!

Goes down by 50% of what the new contract pays through the expiration of his current deal at Texas. I believe his contract is through January of 2019, so in the next 2 years, if he makes $4 Million, his buyout from Texas goes down by $2 Million.

Agreed. He is under .500 without Teddy Bridgewater. If you can't win with the Texas perks, I don't know why you could win in Cincinnati.

What does everyone think about bringing Brian Kelly back if he gets canned at ND?

Would there be mutual interest?

Wouldn't be any different than what Louisville did with Bobby Petrino.

Just throwing some thoughts out there.

I dream about this, most nights.

So LSU hires Orgeron and Texas hires Herman. Baylor is up next. I think if they get a current P5 coaches, Fleck would be a likely replacement. If he were smart, he'd hold out on Purdue if somewhere like UNC opens up.

Morris isn't going to Baylor? What happened there?

Agree on Fleck. He shouldn't settle for Purdue.

USF’s Willie Taggart will be named Oregon’s coach, a source told @ESPN

Sets up for Charlie Strong to return to the state of Florida. He'd be a great fit at USF.
