With that money, Whit said he is going to look into upgrading the Shoe or Nippert. Good news all around.
Hopefully he can use it to pay an exit fee.

UC is not leaving the Big East unless it folds and that is not going to happen. Going to the Big 12 would not be a good move for UC from a football standpoint or a basketball standpoint. UC can be one of the big fish in the Big East and compete for conference championships in football every year. With the BCS going away in a couple years, there is no benefit to UC leaving the Big East. I think we will all be happy with the next TV contract that the Big East is able to obtain.
The grass is not greener in the Big 12. Texas A&M ended a 100 year rivalry with Texas to get out. Missouri ended a 100 year rivalry with Kansas to get out. Nebraska and Colorado left.

Ridiculous. Everything relating to conference alignment is driven by money first and foremost.
Uc would make so much more money in the big 12 than big east. To say otherwise is absurd.
When the bcs goes away, the big east will lose its allure. As the big 12, sec, big 10, pac 12 and acc expand, they will pluck more teams from conferences like the big east.
UC as an institution benefits greatly from going to the big 12. Thats why wvu and ul were desperate to want in. thats why rutgers is still lobbying the big 12. Thats why uconn wants out. Thats why pitt and syracuse are leaving
Eventually there will be only four big competitive conferences four football and you better get in while you can. It will be impossible to compete on the outside looking in
When schools like Texas A&M and Missouri end 100 year rivalries to get out of the Big 12 it is a tell tale sign that all is not well in the Big 12.

False. The big 12 payout will be high and spread out among less members. Also the big 12 wants a conference championship game so they will have to add two more next year. The money between the Big East vs the Big 12 after the Big East signs its new TV deal will not be all that great. The Big 12 is probably not going to expand past 10 members per the latest from ESPN as Texas, who completely runs the Big 12, does not want to split the revenue more than 10 ways. We shall see. The Big East is starting to look an awful lot like the conference we ran away from as fast as we could to get into the Big east.
I'd actually love it if we could figure out how to get into the ACC. I think that is a great fit for football and basketball. But maybe a pipedream.
UC has no interest in joining the Big 12, it is a non issue. UC does not have the $20 million to buy out of the Big East or the $10 million to leave the Big East and wait 2 years, and there are no donors who will pony up this money. UC has not yet raised all of the $13 million to pay for the bubble. UC's athletic budget of $38 million is the lowest of all Big East football schools and would be the lowest by far of Big 12 schools. UC's President, who gets the one and only vote in this matter, is 100% committed to the Big East and was Memphis biggest ally in getting them into the Big East.
To say they have no interest is a falsehood. They do but you are right about the money. Thatd be an issue...but they would come io with it if the big twelve extends an invite.
Espn college football rumors insider is saying louisville is next for the big 12....
I hate being right sometimes
Congratulations on saying something that everyone already knew was the case. The only thing holding UL up is who is going to be number 12.
You have disagreed with me over and over on this. Byu is in serious talks right now. They will be team 11 and ul team 12.
Go back and read what I wrote. I said that the Big 12 will NOT take Louisville UNTIL they have a suitable 12th team ready to go. BYU is still a long shot because of fundamental issues that need to be worked out. Does that mean they won't be number 11? No. It just means it won't happen tomorrow. UL will be gone IF and WHEN the Big 12 finds an 11th school. There is no advantage to taking UL as number 11 and having to split money by 11 instead of 10. If they can get to 12 and get a Championship game back, it makes more sense. Texas will also have to sign off on anything and at this point, there is no certainty there either.
Your rhetoric is old and frankly, boring. Give it up and quit trying to be Ralph. One member with repetitive and boring viewpoints is one more than we need on this site.
You personally attack me because you know you are wrong.
Byu is very close to agreeing to join the big 12. Their boosters want them in because the college football landscape is leaning towards a four team playoff within the next couple years. Teams not in a conference will be at a huge disadvantage
