Conference realignment stuff

Being a top target of another conference does not mean you are going to leave your current conference. UNC already turned down the Big 10, you really think Maryland was the top target in the ACC for the Big 10? Maryland was about the 6th option, UNC, Duke, Virginia, GT, all turned the Big 10 down, the Big 10 was left with Maryland as their only option.
Finally you post something correct. Unc did in fact turn the b1g down... Who's to say they'll do the same after Miami, fsu, Clemson, and others all leave

Miami, FSU, Clemson, and others are not leaving the ACC either.

You have very bad intel if you think they are.

I don't think UVA and GTech leaving the ACC is going to cripple that conference. I have seen some scenarios from actual decent people and not doomsdayers where those two leave for the Big then and ACC backfills and that's it.

In a dream world, UVA and GTech leave, and the ACC fills with UC +1 and thats it. I say +1 because I'm not sold on UCONN getting an invite yet. Florida St/Clemson want to improve Football to keep them happy and UCONN doesn't do that. If they want to bring on a football "project" then a school like Temple/Memphis has a lot more upside. How much of a dream conference would this be:

North Carolina
Duke
Clemson
Florida State
Miami
Virginia Tech
Boston College
Syracuse
Louisville
Pittsburgh
Wake Forest
Cincinnati
North Carolina St
Temple/Memphis/UCONN

plus games with Notre Dame.

However, like I said this is likely a dream conference lol.

We have to remember that if the B1G does in fact take UVA and someone else, then the SEC will act and the B12 will be forced to act.

I think it'll depend who the B1G takes as well. If UNC really does remain in the conference like some think then it may hold together decently well.

If UNC stays in the ACC, it will remain a viable conference. If they leave, it goes up in the air. Doesn't mean the ACC is toast, just a bit more unstable.

Honestly, I don't understand why UNC holds so much power in that conference and I guess that's because I never cared about it that much before but it sure is interesting.

Ralph, even the sporting news reported that its "when" not "if" the b10 invites new members. UVA and GT are the top two candidates. They'd make substantially more in the b10 than acc and it adds the va/Atlanta markets to the b10. It's a win win situation for all side

Stop disagreeing just to disagree

UVA and GT have turned the Big 10 down, both are staying where they want to be, the ACC.

Sorry Ralph. You are way off base

Wv ad Oliver luck just said there is more realignment to come

Once again, the Ralph is the goat(not the acronym)

I propose a bet.

Pick a date...say July 1st, 2014.

If no further realignment occurs prior to that date.... Bearcatmick must stop posting at BearcatTalk.com

If there is further realignment prior to that date ... Ralph must stop posting at BearcatTalk.com

Either way the guy still gets to post but we all win a little.

No ACC school (except Maryland) will be leaving the ACC for another conference. Oliver Luck must be talking about Tulsa to the Big East or Louisana Tech to C-USA as that is the only realignment that is going to happen any time soon. The TV contracts are set for the playoffs and the 6 BCS bowls through the year 2025. ESPN owns the rights 100% to the playoffs and the 6 BCS bowls. ESPN also owns 100% of the TV rights to the ACC.

BearcatMick has been wrong about all things conference realignment, 2 weeks ago he had Houston and SMU in the Mountain West. BearcatMick will continue to be wrong about all things conference realignment until he takes my Conference Realignment 101 course.

Ralph said "the big east bball only schools will never leave". That is 7 incorrect statements in one.

Luck was talking about the b12 and went so far as to say he wanted a "school east of the Mississippi to join"

Nice try Ralph

Wrong again as always, BM, you really need to sign up for my course.

Texas does not care one iota about what Oliver Luck may want, Texas runs the Big 12.

And Texas is solidly behind the notion of adding new members according to beat writer chip brown of Texas rivals

Chip Brown is not a beat writer, he owns a website that sells $100 a year subscriptions, he throws things out to intice people to buy suscriptions.

Texas is against expanding unless the new school adds $30 million to the Big 12 TV contract, there are no such available schools out there, neither ND or ACC schools want to join the Big 12. Texas is against a CCG.

Once again BearcatMick you have posted useless and inaccurate stuff, you really need to take my Conference Realignment 101 course.

RALPH IS WRONG AGAIN!

This just in. ESPN's Brett McMurphy just told The Latern that he believes the "Big Ten will be the conference that sets off the next wave of expansion"

So now we have the following saying the big 10 will expand:
-sporting news
-Brett mcmurphy
-Greg swaim
-chip brown of Texas rivals
-sportsman cave
-Houston cougars 247 guy
-Oliver luck wv ad

Does anyone else picture him sitting on his laptop in front of a mirror?

Anyhow, the funniest thing is that anyone actually pretend to know what is going on and who will do what.

None of those except TSN is mainstream, all have agendas, mostly selling $100 subscriptions to WVU fans. All McMurphy is doing is offering an opinion, there is nothing factual about his opinion. The Big 10 has no one to expand with. Notre Dame has been turning down the Big 10 for the last 25 years. All the AAU ACC teams turned down the Big 10 in the last 2 months, UVA, GT, UNC, that is why the Big 10 ended up with Maryland the last school on their list.

BM, your posts are nonsensical, you need to sign up for my Conference Realignment 101 course.
