Dear Creighton

I am really excited to get this game going. Cronin seems to have loosened the reigns tremendously in an effort to get the guys to play with no worries. From the open practice to tweeting pictures of SK shooting half court shots over him in Philly. The pressure should be on Creighton, the higher seed with McD the All-American, to beat us and Mick is letting the kids know this. Let's just play hard nosed UC basketball and the rest will work itself out. Creighton has a great team, I just hope if they beat us they can knock the Dookies out!

The pressure is not on Creighton. The team is really even-keeled and the Jays will know their roles. If the shots don't drop they will keep gunning.

Creighton is not really built to overcome a large deficit so if UC gets up 10+ that spells trouble. The Jays were hammered by Boise, Indiana St., and SMC. Once they trailed, Creighton could not get a series of stops. The same goes for the closer losses to UNI, Illinois St., and Drake. Last year Creighton won EVERY close game, but as I said before they lost 3 close games largely due to fatigue by shooting way below their averages.

The Wichita-Pitt game could be a good gauge for our game. I was going to pick against Wichita no matter who they played.

Not so sure about much of that. We can come back from deficits because we have a good offense. If we're not built to come back then I don't know who is. And we have won close games lately, but not as much earlier in the season, you're right there.

I noticed yesterday that AC was banned along with Bearcat Mick, and Ralph. Yet I saw Anbuc88 still posting. So AC got banned for defending himself from a poster who called him a racist? Yet that poster kept his priveledges? I see Bearcat Mick is a nusaince, but I have not seen anything from Ralph that is out of line. Is this forum a fraternity for certain people, or is everyone welcome?
Now I see because Anbuc88 assaulted an L.T, you decided he served a ban. This smells like an old fashion inclusion.

But if you notice, BearcatMick is back.

Good game, Cats!

I knew your defense would cause turnovers and havoc. Our guards always look scared (even against non-pressure teams). If we don't shoot lights out we really struggle. Maybe we can take your defense and our offense to beat Duke Sunday?

Thomas looked like a phenom, but FT killed you as everyone predicted.

Your length REALLY bothered McD. This game was similar to last year vs. UNC. He plays below the rim and gets his soft stuff tossed. I hope this convinces him to stay. He was the difference and still finished with 27 and 11.

As the UC fans said before the game, UC lost because they take horrible shots. Did you notice how easily UC could get to the basket especially when Echenique was out of the game? UC guards drove to the lane and then stopped for short jumpers. I was baffled.

Best of luck next year, McD is our golden goose and we are simply fortunate to have him. Thanks for a great week in the lead-up.

I thought I'd come over and tell you guys what a breath of fresh air your forum and fans turned out to be. Holy hell do we usually get either completely disrespected by fans of the teams from the Big Six conferences, not to mention the vitriol we have to put up with from fans of teams from the Valley.

Everyone here was as accommodating as can be, and the fans that showed up on the Bluejay Underground were more gracious and insightful than we could expect.

I'll definitely look at your program with a more favorable eye going forward - not that I disliked you in the past but I really didn't know much.

Good luck going forward!

It's baffled us, the fans, all year

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I didn't get to see the game besides the last minute and a half. We scored 63, which by our standards, is good enough to win. What I saw in the last minute and a half really encouraged me-we played high iq basketball. Stretch out the game enough, and you will improve your chances of winning. As always, ft shooting killed us. I'm sure someone on this board will try to blame that on Mick-this is a problem that UC has always had under Huggs and Cronin. It is not in the DNA of UC basketball. Still, great intensity and very smart basketball towards the end kept us in it. If we would've played like that for all those games we lost, we might have been able to finish out some of those close games where we barely lost.

Thanks for all your great posts. Hope you guys kick butt Sunday. It can and has been done this season. The way your team works the ball, it's a distinct possibility. Plus everyone is tired of seeing Duke at the top year after year.
