I've got a question, and this is not an attack, just an honest question.

If you aren't a UC football fan then why do you actively seek out and post on a UC message board? You're like a regular on this board too....what's the deal with that?

From the day I was born I was an OSU Football and UC Bball Fanatic. I am very critical of my teams and don't like to see them underachieve or become complacent. Although it seems I do not like UC, thats the way I am wired. As critical as I am on Mick I was the same on Huggs, Coach Cooper and Tressel.

As for UC football, I am a casual supporter. I still like to see them do well to represent the city and the state of Ohio. That statement about who canceled the game, was not a knock on UC, rather getting facts straight.

Fair enough, I'm with you on having high expectations for my teams. I have been very critical of Mick and I'm still not 100% sold. Winning is the only thing that is acceptable.

Ill set it straight. No maybe or if's.

UC was told by the Big East that TCU was joining the BE. It was "set in stone" as UC was told. The BE told UC they needed to drop a game. UC dropped the OSU game. There was no probably or maybe about it.

OSU and UC won't meet up till 2014 and 2018.

And it is no ones fault, so not bashing UC

UC did not cancel the game. You're mistaken.

UC told OSU that UC may need the game to be moved because of the addition of TCU. OSU went ahead and moved the game and booked UCF.

Regardless of who cancelled the game there is the fact that OSU actually paid their way out of playing in Cincinnati. They have this long history of winning against teams in Ohio but are afraid to step out of their comfort zone to come and play UC. I have a problem with that. And it was UC who pushed the game to make room on their schedule for another potential conference game.

How so?

They have played @Texas, @ USC, and @ The U most recenlty. And you are calling @ UC out of their comfort zone?

Bottom line. OSU gains nothing by coming to UC. If they lose, they look like fools. If they win, o well.

The biggest thing is if you have a 101,000 seat stadium, would you rather have it full or empty????

OSU paid UC $1 Million based on the contract that was signed before Brian Kelly was the coach. The $1 Million option would allow OSU to move the game scheduled to be played at PBS in Cincinnati to Columbus. They had to do it something like 2 years prior and they did it while BK was still here. That is when he came out and made his comment about playing anyone, anywhere. He said UC would play OSU in a parking lot in Xenia if that is what they wanted.

It was a bad contract signed by the previous administration that was around when UC was still in CUSA.

I don't buy the fact that they look like fools if they come here and lose. The bottom line is that OSU feels it is beneath them to have to play another team in Ohio away from home. I haven't researched it fully but I bet you would have to go back a while to find the last time they played an Ohio team outside of Columbus other than the Bearcats game at PBS. I want to know who they look like fools to. UC plays in a BCS conference....albeit a very disheveled one but BCS nonetheless. If that is the opinion of OSU then my opinion of them looking down on every other team in Ohio is accurate. I am not saying that UC is on the same level as OSU but they are also not equivalent to the Akrons and OhioUs that are basically sacrificial lambs on OSU's schedule. I believe that UC does deserve more respect than that. This is obviously just my opinion so it is always open for discussion.

You in essense are saying the same thing as I.

In the eyes of analyst all over the country and UC football fans, they look like fools.

They come down to PBS, and if they lose, UC fans make more dumb t-shirts about Buckeye State. If you don't like it, don't bring it upon yourselves. Even a win is a loss because their 101k seat stadium brought in $0. If these teams in Ohio want to come to the horseshoe, they gain something as well, TV exposure! Its a smart business move for both the Mac schools in the area and the Administration at TOSU to have as many home games as possible

OSU plays in a shitty BCS conference too. The Big 10 is garbage and has been for several years now. The Big East hasn't been great either but it's not like OSU plays in the SEC or Big 12.

Only 4 days until Washington and Stanford announce their college decision. If they both put on Bearcat hats I will jump so high my head will hit the ceiling.

There are currently 5 teams in the BCS Top 25 from the Big Ten. Thats with a below average OSU Team. I would compare the Big 12 to the Big 10.

Please elaborate

Both teams have 5 in the BCS top 25. OSU split with Texas last time they met. Unless I am brought facts, I stand by my statement

This statement is not relevant to this year's BCS.

Has any Big 10 team won a big OOC game this year? They have 5 in the top 25 because there is no strength at the top and the bottom is awful. A lot of average to below average teams.

I agree with you that the Big 10 is down this year, but you can't go by 1 year.

They've been down the last few years overall. Outside OSU, the conference has been a disappointment.

I dont know about that, 2009-2010; Ohio State beat Oregon, Penn St beat LSU, Iowa beat Ga Tech, NW took Aub into OT.

Last season; Iowa beat Mizzoo, Illini beat Baylor, and OSU beat Ark. Big 10 also had some horrible losses by Mich and Mich St.

If you go year by year there would be a diff argument for who is the better conf, but on a consistent level the Big 10 and 12 are relative

  • The big 12 has 2 teams in the top 5, one of those teams being the #2 team in the nation. The big 10's best team is #15.
  • The big 12 has 3 teams ranked higher than the big 10's best team, which btw, is 30% of their conference.

Facts.

I really didn't think you were serious.
