Man that is so great to hear! Everyone seems to be buying in on this team. Having guys like SK put in 5 years of hard work will do that to the younger guys under him, and in turn they will show the incoming class what it takes to be successful.

I enjoyed watching and being a loyal fan through the lengthy rebuilding days, but it was tough. John Williamson, Marvin Gentry, Jamual Warren and Marcus Sikes coming in trying to compete in the Big East. They did a great job, but now our guys are taking it to another level. Let's win it all this year!

Them earlier guys a win aac

UConn will be talented, but I have them 3rd. And I highly doubt Memphis will finish ahead of Tulsa. Tulsa was much better than Memphis last year and literally returns their entire roster. Memphis just lost their best player, and too late in the offseason for a decent backup plan. I like Rothstein, but I really have to question his research and/or opinion having Memphis ahead of Tulsa.

Memphis has real deal talent if they can finally put it together

A little surprised to see UCONN ahead of us.

Thoughts?

Winning takes care of everything. Mick and the crew need to focus on winning in March.

Reminds me when Mick was an active voice for SK for conference POY and UConn and Napier were quiet and got the last laugh.

Yep, let their play do the talking.

I along with most fans expect us to win the AAC, but it will be a close race. I expect us smu and UConn to be all in the top 20 throughout conference play

I have to say Rehfeldt has really impressed me as the Strength coach. Along with staying on the cutting edge of fitness and technology for it, he is great at nutrition for the team as well. Unfortunately he'll be working for a pro team sooner rather than later, and he deserves it, he has done wonders for the Cats.

Heard from the strength coaches that farrad has also packed on 15 lbs of muscle this offseason.

Man our team is going to battle next year! It seems everyone is putting on muscle. What about Moore and DeBerry though? Has anyone seen anything mentioning them? I think I remember reading something saying they were just trying to trim fat on DeBerry to make him quicker on his feet. He's already the strongest on the team. Quadri needs to be quicker on his feet as well for defensive purposes.

Every team workouts during summer with coaches. I need to see some fundamental improvements from players. getting pushed around last year wasn't our program. It's great guys in weight room just don't want spend to much time in their and guys come out bricking lay ups.

Quadri is the one player I haven't heard much about this summer. Rehfeldt has no pics or him on any of his social media accounts, most other players including the 3 freshman have all been hitting it hard. Just interesting haven't seen anything on Q. I hope he's taking things seriously and working as hard as the rest of his team mates.

Coach rehfeldt is one of the best strength coaches around, he's done a great job incorporating different drills and exercises and having a plan for each guy. This team also recognizes the potential, I've also Believe troys been really growing as a leader too. But I heard around a month ago from deberry that he was down 20 lbs this summer, he looked lean (brendel has commented that some of that, about 10, came from an illness so I believe he's looking to add 10 back I believe he's about where he wants to be now) he's looking really mobile and a lot quicker. I've heard everyone has packed on muscle but haven't gotten much on quandri....I do know tre Scott his putting in the work and at 6'8" if he keeps getting stronger he could steal the minutes at back up 4 to clark when we don't want deberry and Ellis in at the same time

Strictly out of nothing happening right now and out of boredom... Potential starting 5 and backups for 2016-'17:

C Kyle Washington, Nysier Brooks
PF Gary Clark, Quadri Moore, Tre Scott
SF Jacob Evans
SG Kevin Johnson, Jarron Cumberland (could see him get time at the 3 also)
PG Troy Caupain, Justin Jenifer

We definitely need another center and combo guard to round out our 2016 class, but the future is bright! I watched the NC State game (still on my DVR) the other night and liked what I saw in Washington. The year off to bulk up and go against DeBerry and Ellis will help him a ton, then the 5 spot will be all his going into his junior season. I cannot wait to see Jenifer, Cumberland and Evans all on the floor together.

I hope Tre Scott will play the 3 off the bench.

I was thinking the same thing with how undersized he is, but his perimeter game isn't there apparently. I remember him saying he wanted to help contribute by doing whatever the team needed him to. With Shaq taking most the minutes at the 3, then Evans likely behind him I don't see him seeing a lot of minutes unless Clark gets in foul trouble. We'll see...

He isn't that undersized and he does have a good mid range game from what I've seen from a couple of videos I wouldn't be surprised if he was better than Moore and our second best option at the 4. He is supposed to be a great passer and if he wants minutes he is going to have to be a good defender, I wouldn't be surprised by the end of the year he was our primary back up to Clark at pf.

I agree. He's 6'8" that's an inch taller than clark, he's been putting on a lot of size and strength since his season ended. I've also heard he's got a great motor so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he became our primary back up behind clark

quadri should be improved this year. played against best of best in high school and dominated. If he puts in work and becomes more comfortable with college I look for him being most improved

Quadri's offense does not concern me he has a lot of tools that can make him a solid offensive college basketball player. But his defense is easily the worst on the team and if mick see's a chink in our armor with him on the defensive end you better believe tre will get an opportunity to fill that void.

Ps I have no facts to back this up, but it seems like tee Scott would be very good defensively with how athletic he looks.
