Expectations for 2015-16

I agree. He's 6'8" that's an inch taller than clark, he's been putting on a lot of size and strength since his season ended. I've also heard he's got a great motor so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he became our primary back up behind clark

I agree with this. It sounds like he has the right attitude based on his comments and work in the weight room. I think he will be more than willing to defend and rebound and from a recent pic in the weight room looks like about 225 lbs of muscle now.

If Quadri puts in the hard work we could be in a really good position for years to come at the 4 and 5. We can be 3 deep at both positions because of him. If he doesn't work hard we may need to grab one more big at some point.

5...Ellis, Debarry, Moore
4...Clark, Moore/Scott

the following year:

5...Washington/Moore/Brooks
4...Clark, Moore/Scott

Strictly out of nothing happening right now and out of boredom... Potential starting 5 and backups for 2016-'17:

C Kyle Washington, Nysier Brooks
PF Gary Clark, Quadri Moore, Tre Scott
SF Jacob Evans
SG Kevin Johnson, Jarron Cumberland (could see him get time at the 3 also)
PG Troy Caupain, Justin Jenifer

We definitely need another center and combo guard to round out our 2016 class, but the future is bright! I watched the NC State game (still on my DVR) the other night and liked what I saw in Washington. The year off to bulk up and go against DeBerry and Ellis will help him a ton, then the 5 spot will be all his going into his junior season. I cannot wait to see Jenifer, Cumberland and Evans all on the floor together.
Hahah I'm with you on that boredom man....last night I rewtched the whole uc Louisville game on YouTube from when Russ smith hit that shot. Talk about an intense game wow

I saw Shaq, Clark, Cashmere Wright and Kyle Washington in Mt. Adams this weekend out on a "team building exercise." Glad Washington is already out hanging with his new team. Also ran into Wright at a restaurant last week and he said he was in town a little while and still playing overseas. Hopefully he gets some gym time with them while he's here

Wright, Dixon, Gates and Hicks have all stopped by to run some open gym this summer...

Saw Kenyon had a tweet to Ono about getting Cincinnati basketball where it should be. Do you have any insight as to what this is referring to. Reading between the lines he has not been in town this summer.

Thanks!

Should've told Kenyon come help out or shut up. Kenyon could be MAJOR recruiting draw being #1 pick I'll even have him coach bigs full time. Every big on roster would benefit from his knowledge. Maybe Mick should call him up asap.

Mick and Kenyon have talked this summer. Reality is guys that have made a hundred million want to enjoy life and not spend 360 days a year grinding on a college staff. Feel like kicking it for 2 weeks on the beach with your family? Nope. You might find a few days in June or August. It just isn't likely a guy with that much money spends 11 1/2 months a year working when he doesn't actually have to spend another day doing anything but enjoying the fruits of his 15 years of labor...

Maybe he was referring to getting approval for the new arena done.

It's not for money some of these guys just love and miss the game. With his kids getting older they will soon be off building there own lives. Look at guys like Steve Kerr, Jason Kidd, Larry bird, jordan, inverson is trying to get an upper exec job, Isaiah Thomas, and many more just love the game and want back in somehow. I'm not saying kmart will join the staff but it wouldn't surprise me if he was back in an organization sometime soon....now tht he will have more free time id love to see him come around more to work with the guys and just be a slight presence, maybe even honored at half time of a game would be really cool

You are talking about guys making millions, and coaching in the NBA is a totally different situation than dealing with coaching and recruiting college kids. College assistants aren't making anywhere close to a million a year and work a ton more. Apples and anchovies...

None of them are really in need of the money...they love the game that's why they do it. Isaiah did try college didn't work tho. And I never said k mart would be uc lead recruiter or anything like that, just simply said there's a good chance he'll be back in the game in some form in some organization (college or pro more likely pro). All these guys know is hoops that's been there whole life, some of them need in there life that's why the media is loaded with former players.... But kenyon is the definition of an all time great or a hero in terms of uc basketball so I would hope he would come back for a few games these next few years

These are not assistants but ex NBA head coaches in college:

Mark Price
Avery Johnson
Chris Mullen
Kevin Ollie
Fred Hoiberg
Danny Manning

I am sure there are more. Hopefully Kenyon will make his presence known more since he is retired.

Where are all the guys that made money similar to Kenyon on college staffs? There is a reason it rarely, if ever, happens...

Never said there was a lot..... If you'd read what I have posted Im talking more about former players being involved in the nba...but there are former nba players like Chris Mullen Danny manning and guys like that that do go back and try college...throw isiahah Thomas in there as well....Kmart doesn't need the money neither does a guy like Jason Kidd or Chauncey billups(media) but what do these guys do when they retire, they miss the game. Coaches and anaylist love basketball. Kenyon has son in the 2019 class who will prolly play in college maybe Kmart joins uc staff or joins up with his close friend huggins to coach his son in a few years.....

Again you are listing guys making millions of dollars, not guys making 200K. It isn't even close to the same thing...

All making millions a year...

Well they are head coaches....more work = more money...Kenyon won't be a head coach. I expect him involved in the game in some way not a lead role tho...I really don't get what you are arguing...some struggle with retirement cuz they miss they game so they find ways to stay invoked: media, coaching, camps, training sessions ( lebron trained with Olajuwon a few years back), seminars(Ray Lewis does stuff like this) most don't do this for money it's to stay involved in the game
