Furman

Help Support BearcatTalk:

Furman's starting guards are sporting effective fg percentages around 80. They are both shooting over 50% from three on 6 attempts each per game (both 37% career), and are a combined 15-15 at the free throw line this year.

Their weakness is rebounding, especially defensive rebounding. In their last game, they gave up 20 offensive rebounds in a 24 pt road win over Charleston (they shot 16-34 from three). Hopefully that means fewer fast break opportunities for them if we can grab some offensive boards.

Strong finish

Keep it going.

A couple defensive possessions were brutal to watch but they slowed it down and got right

80% (12/15) from 2 that half - that's elite finishing.

Really took advantage of their most athletic bigs being on the bench for extended minutes in foul trouble.

We have players. They are young and probably not fully ready but we have some players.

Davenport might turn out to be a pretty good player. He has good skills. If he improves every year, could be a solid college player. Reminds me a little of Nate Hinton from Houston

He’s really got me putting my foot in my mouth. He’s been fantastic compared to what I thought we might get. He can’t make plays off the bounce but he’s basically doing everything else we need from him. Kudos and my apologies to Mr Davenport!!

Yeah, Hinton couldn’t really make plays off the dribble either. Which is fine. Play good d, good energy, and stand in the corner and make a couple 3s.
