Rap was a disaster late in the game, thought he nearly lost us the game. He gave up two easy drives by charging out on Slawson, the guy who we were giving space because he couldn't make threes. He also gave up a wide open three to a good shooter. He also couldn't rebound when we played the 1-3-1. His defense was bad all night. He did have a few nice passes and one nice drive, but overall his offense was nothing special either and his good plays are negated by his bad shot selection.
I criticize Vogt's defense, but Vogt at least knows what to do, he just doesn't always have the physical ability to do what he needs to. Rap doesn't play good mental defense and his physical limitations exacerbate that.
Dou played reasonably well, still made some defensive mistakes as well - playing his man too tight and getting beat on the drive. He is one of the few players on the team who makes a good effort to get offensive rebounds. He should at least be getting the backup 5 minutes before Rap does.
Keith was the star we need him to be and also rebounded well, Davenport played a solid game, DeJulius was solid and rebounded well - would be nice if he could drive more, he's effective at it when he does. MAW had a lot of issues guarding their back-cuts, though he's the guy we want at the line late in games. Harvey didn't really do anything, Eason played well though still has some freshman mistakes - he should be our starting 4 going forwards as there's not much competition - only other guy who you could argue should start at the 4 is Davenport.
We need to find a way to get Vogt the ball more against teams like this. I believe over half of Vogt's points were off set plays we ran on the first possession after Vogt subbed in. But when Brannen isn't calling the play, we don't do very well at getting Vogt the ball. If Vogt isn't scoring, he's a net liability (though not as big of one as Rap is).
