I am watching the WVU - Georgetown game and the announcers started talking Big East teams and Cincinnati came up. Both were very impressed by the win and the male announcer brought up how Bob Huggins really likes this UC team. He said in their pre game conversation he went through the UC roster player by player and talked about what he likes about each one. He called Bishop a poor man's Desean Butler because he can do a little bit of everything and do it well. He said he really liked what Davis and Dixon bring every night. He thinks Gates is a really good player. Bob also said he expects the Bearcats to stick around all year and compete near or at the top of the league.

The female announcer then added that every coach they spoke with really liked Bishop and would love to have him on their team.

I didn't think I would say this, but replacing our seniors next year isn't going to be a walk in the park. They provide production on the court and leadership on andx off the court. I wish it happened earlier but this class is pretty solid now.

Female announcer = Doris Burke. Generally speaking, she knows her stuff. Some don't like her, but I have no problems.

Bishop is shooting 40% from 3 this year. He has not missed a FT. His problem has always been offense and leadership. He has corrected both those problems and is playing very good basketball. 6'6", strong, athletic and one of our better defenders.

We'll see how much our guys have matured at 'Nova. They will be tested throughout the game, and I'm interested to see how they react when they need big buckets or 'Nova goes on a knockout run...

This reminds me of his athleticism:

Rashad gets his points within the framework of the offense. He rarely if ever forces a shot. If anything he really should be MORE aggressive as a scorer... that hasn't been needed much yet this year, but at some point it will be and it will be on him as a senior to show up.

Always liked Rashad. Was shocked how many wanted him gone, or questioned whether we needed him, EVEN AFTER LANCE DECLARED. He actually reminds a little bit of a Pete Mickeal meets Imac. I don't care what year, who we have, I'll take that "type" of player every single year, especially when they're a Sr.

That left handed line drive (Is it just me or does it seem like 90% of southpaws shots look that way?) may not be pretty, but kid is making some big shots this year.

Back in the spring I said if Bishop made it thru the conditions that Mick set forth for him that he would be a much better player and a benefit to this team. To make it he had to be dedicated. He has had the support of his team from day one. I think he realizes that his actions hurt the team and his personal developement.

Our leadership will come from Dion, SK, Cash and Yancy next season. The biggest thing this senior class has given this program is a blueprint for winning. It will now become a culture because you have guys growing up in it. That ingredient was missing for Mick the past several years.

Jackson and Gaines will be in year two. SK and Parker in year three. Wright, Dixon, and Gates will have four years. Next year will not leave this program void of experience or leadership.

I am as excited about the future of this program as I have ever been. Thomas and Sanders will be able to contribute immediately and I think Guyn will fill a major role backing Cash up and playing ferocious defense. Ellis and Davis will be able to grow without pressure. If Mick can land Jurick, or another solid big that can come in and play, there is no reason this team can't compete again next season. As always defense will be huge. Losing Rashad at the wing defensively won't be easy to replace.

just curious- how confident are you in shaq's ability to contribute next year? i only ask because i worry about his strength.

I would like to say that doesn't worry me but it does. The spring and summer will be big for him in terms of physical developement. Won't be surprised to see 'Maine and Parker play some 3. Sanders for sure.

Doris is def one of the top 5 cbb analysts out there right now. Im sure some of her detractors may think shes only on tv, bc "they need a woman analyst doing some games" but if they give her a chance and listen shes one of the few that if im flipping around and its two non interesting/boring teams playing but shes doing the game, then I'll stop and watch/listen. She doesnt have the best made for tv voice, but the in game quality of analysis she gives is really top notch. Was an absolute joke that one night im flipping around and saw her being wasted as a sideline reporter for an NBA game a couple times.

My own list, Id put her in the top 3.

1. Bilas
2. Gottleib
3. Doris

I like Bilas and Doris Burke but not Gottleib. I feel like it is always about him. My top three (color people, not play by play) would be:

1. Bobby Knight
2. Jay Bilas
3. Doris Burke

No love for Clark Kellogg?

I personally think Gottleib is terrible. Not only is he a credit card thief, his NCAA brackets, year in and year out, are the worst in the business IMO.

Clark is OK. I don't have a problem with him usually.

He is play by play which is why he didn't make my list. I was strictly going on Color Analysts.

Got ya... that's what I get for skimming the thread...

I agree that Doris knows her stuff but she isn't the most pleasing voice to listen to.
