He did miss one or two of those as well but it was great to see a new shot in his arsenal. I really like it...he should be able to hit at least 50% of those. I don't think he even went to his signature move all night...but I think he should mix them all together.

Yes he did. He has a nice touch. if your going to let him get in that deep, your right he will make a bunch of them.

Did JJ get any run last night? If he did i missed it. I would have loved to see him in that style of game

The 3 TO by Caupain were barely noticeable bc of how we were playing. I'm seriously trying to think of 2 of them. I know one was a pass up top where Thomas wasn't looking. Can't recall the other 2. Did he get another offensive foul? Anyway, our non-guards combined for 7 also. But when we aren't struggling offensively, our shortcomings aren't nearly as magnified. And Johnson had 0 TO in 20 minutes, with 3 STL 4 REB? Who is this guy? I might have to start calling him KJ again.

Sorry boss, I think anyone who's been on this board for longer than 68 posts knows that I'm not a troll. Just because I don't change my opinion of the coach on a game by game basis doesn't make me a troll. Last night did nothing to change my opinion that Mick needs to go.

I'm happy for the players though and I enjoyed the game thoroughly.

Well said UCB....and true!

I think I saw you talking to Kenyon and Oscar. Didn't realize that was you or I would have joined in. Oscar is a very private person so you have to be careful about approaching him. 2 games ago, he was standing near the concession stand eating a hot dog, and I was ready to walk up and shake his hand and see if I could get his opinion on the state of the program, but someone walked up and beat me to it. I was actually in pursuit of Kenyon myself at halftime, but that was when he ended up going in the locker room and I missed that opportunity as well.

One was a drive where he got it stripped. And I think the other was maybe the pass downlow that ended being swiped and then fell in clarks hands for a half second. Then Clark and a Memphis player fell to the ground and Clark got a foul phantom foul.

I agree, that was a game tailor made for JJ. It would have been nice to see him get something....but, oh well. He better perform well against these two cupcakes coming up or he may be done for the season.

Obviously I was kidding about the Big O and Kenyon comment. Just a little wishful thinking on my part.

True Big O story though. I was at a football game a few years back, I don't remember the exact date but I think it was Butch's first year. We weren't very good and the final game of the season was against UConn in a snow storm.

Anyways, at halftime they brought down the Big O onto the field for some reason and he walked down the aisle right by my seats surrounded by the AD at the time (can't remember if it was Whit or Mike Thomas) and some other folks. After halftime the group came back up the aisle the same way they went down. The stands in general were pretty empty because it was snowing pretty hard, it was freezing cold and it was the final game of a bad season for UC Football. As they got close to us on the way back up our group yelled at the AD to fire Mick. Big O was standing behind the AD and he looked at us and gave us the big eyes and the nod of approval. It was clear he wasn't on board with Mick either. The funny thing was the AD (wish I could remember which one it was) actually stopped and talked to us for a few minutes and thanked us for our support to the athletic program.

So there's no doubt Big O is not a Mick supporter.

Lol...oh, ok. Well they were together a lot last night and I saw them conversing with other people as well. Assumed you were one of them. I love Oscar, but I've been told he doesn't always handle the situation very well when people request autographs or pictures. I kind of thought you were kidding, but you never know. My bad.

Only 1 cupcake coming up then its @Uconn.

We need to destroy Tulane for beating us with a buzzer beater.

Thanks for that Jacob. It's hard to equate what Mick is saying about beating the defense down the court and pushing the pace, with what we have seen most of the year. It's almost like he's telling them to run and the players are just not doing it, or maybe instead of linking all the players into this statement, it could just primarily be Caupain. I saw Cobb get a rebound last night and instead of turning and getting out in transition, he turned the opposite way and went toward the opponents basket and let everyone clear out down the floor before he turned and finally slowly advanced up court. But, Caupain was noticeably throwing some longer passes down court in transition last night....a lot more than usual. So maybe we're finally seeing a positive change occurring. It's still mind-boggling how when we push the pase and play faster, that the defense gets noticeably worse. Playing faster on offense should have no effect on defense, unless running so much on offense is getting them more fatigued and affecting the quality of their defense.

I still think we should be beating teams like Memphis and Houston by bigger margins at home, and I think it is the defense that's causing that. It's a lot of the same guys who we thought were really good defensively last year, so it doesn't make sense.

Memphis has better players

I think my favorite play from Last night was actually the under the basketball bank shot tip by Ellis.

Was a huge possession that he made count.

saying the same shit everywhere regardless of its relevance or the topic is absolutely trolling, my friend.

have a nice day.

Between Mick yelling at them the whole game and his loser brother hollering at the refs the whole time I'm surprised our guys can ever focus on anything.

It was a great team effort for them last night to overcome the challenges they face.

At what point do we get rid of this turkey?

Funny. I don't think it's true or intended that way. He's been a friend of the family member for quite some time. Before I was born. Don't believe he feels that way at all. But hey keep preaching fire MICK. It should get you far.

I completely agree. Our defense still has so many holes. It was really poor last night. Majority of Memphis's 3's were wide open. I just don't understand why we constantly look like we are scrambling around and out of position. Why is our defense such an issue when we have all returning players from last year except for 1 or 2 guys?
