Michael Dixon

I think its a tough call. I think Gaines is the most logical choice if someone is gonna lose their spot. I still think if SK stays (Which I fully expect him to) then you have a big log jam at the guard position and sending a player to prep might be the easiest solution. I have to admit at this point I have no idea what the decision is going to be. If you listen to Cronin speak of the incoming recruits it sounds as if he fully expects all of them to be here next year. I have no doubt that he and his staff have always had a contingency plan in place if Lawrence were to commit. Just curious to see what that plan is.

Still have no clue what the story is with Dixon, I would take him in a heartbeat for next year...he will be a solid 12-14 point scorer and a pretty good PG.

Can everyone calm down? Look, Guyn is not going anywhere. He actually played a little this year and at times has shown some nice ability (see: defense, his floater yesterday vs. Creighton) and for God's sake, does anyone remember how bad Dion Dixon was his first two years? His biggest play in that time was dribbling the ball off his leg. Then he developed into a crucial starter. I see that happening with Guyn to be honest, they are kinda similar. Sanders too has shown flashes and can play a little if he had SK type dedication. Gaines has been bad at points, i admit. But in all hoensty, there was a stint in the USF game, for like 5 minutes, where i thought "This kid might be able to contribute." Kentucky is going to be 2 over the limit next year. So please, calm down, players develop, remember how bad we thought wed be after losing Lance and Deonta?

lmao. dixon will never be at uc. people need to think for a minute.

if he even plays again it will be a div 2 school or some low div 1 school who is desperate enough to take him. maybe wvu. their coach has no problem with rapiest on the team.

I would have taken Dez Wells too...

I would take Wells, but probably not Dixon. If he was accused once and charges were dropped, it is worth it. Dixon has been charged 2x, he must have done something wrong. I would rather go after Jaren Sina, he is very talented and we could have him 4+ years without the prior problems. Plus, it would please Amberly's desire for a token white guy............:D:D

Mick is always recruiting, but I'd be surprised if there is anymore movement in the 2013 class except who the player is that won't be here for one reason or the other.

Jeff, do you believe there wont be movement because mick will not pursue dixon or sina or because the thought that those guys dont have interest in u.c.? I understand being loyal to players, so is the affect of not renewing current scholarships that adverse in the minds of future recruits that mick wouldnt take the opportunity to scoop up a quality player at a position we need?

Sina will likely end up at Seton Hall or Alabama. Both are going to be or may already have gotten, home visits. I find it unlikely that after UC has tried to get him twice already, that he'll suddenly want to be a Bearcat.

Dixon is more because I just don't think the roster is going to be upset beyond where it currently is. I also don't think in the end they'll take on that baggage. Innocent or guilty, he carries the accusation and a university that is trying to lure a potential new home, you just don't need it.

He has committed to Memphis. They are loading up that roster.

Good thing their coach can only recruit and never gets results with all the talent he gets. Give Mick Cronin his roster, they would be a perennial power. Pastner doesn't know how to coach.......

His tourney results:
2010- missed tourney
2011-first round exit
2012-first round exit
2013-second round exit, lost 70-48.
With the talent they get because of their reputation, 4 years to work with it, and a weak conference that they should dominate every year, if I were a Memphis fan, I woul be very disappointed. Mick has played in a strong conference, didn't have a great roster handed to him, had to win with inferior talent, and still made a sweet 16 and has slowly rebuilt a program from the ground up.
