pretty embarrassing that uc cant win at a place incarnate word can.

while i was watching uc in a 9 min scoring drought, keep thinking about that blog that was posted about defense and that's how uc win..

Sanders shouldn't be in the game in FT situations. He has never been a good FT shooter. I can't think of 1 time is his career that I was confident that he'd make both.

not trying to pick on mick, but he just said that arena was the second toughest place to play in the country behind ville.

he just said that about a football school lol

This game made me reach stroke levels of anger.

Now you just have to pick up the pieces and move on, and hope a loss like this fires the team up.

There is no substitute for execution and making smart basketball plays.

Nebraska had 3 assists and 22 turnovers...that has to be up there for the worst of all time by a winning team.

No, he did not say that. He said it was the second best facility in America. That is probably true, they have a beautiful basketball arena...believe it was 150+ millions dollars...

This team has no shooters.
This team has no leaders.
This team has no identity.

They play good defense. But it's going to be a long, long season, IMHO.

Who will lead this team? Who will help them get an identity? Who will step up in critical situations? Who will make a f*ing free throw? And why is free throw shooting consistently a Bearcat weakness???

Frustrated.

This was a team relying on Lawrence and Strickland to provide a lot of the offense needed for the season. Both are gone. The bright spot in all of this is the condition of the conference lol. Laugh or cry. Still hopeful.

ok, guess i misunderstood, but why even bring it up? did the 150 million arena make them go 9 mins without a basket?

Cronin keeps saying that defense and effort are controllable. You work on the things you can control. The only reason he can't control offense is that he only recruits offensively inept players. 55 points in 50 minutes. Sad.

This is nothing new. You figure people would get use to it by now. Bearcat basketball is not an exiting brand, any longer. It is a grind to the final buzzer with the hopes that the good guys will be up by a couple.

Should have won the game. Plain and simple.

I thought the officiating favored Nebraska a bit, but that's to be expected on the road. That is a tough arena to play in, so I will grant them that.

But I've said it before and I will say it again -- why can't division I basketball players hit free throws? I couldn't get off the bench more than 10 minutes per game at a division III high school (in Ohio) and I averaged 70% from the free throw line. I just don't get it. If we shoot 60% from the free throw line, we win.

#$@%&^$#!!!

UC had shot reasonable from the ft line till last night. Say whatever you like, the fact remains they could and should have won that game. I believe if they could have won that game last night it would have been huge for them mentally. It's reminding me of '09-'10 when the team lost like 9 games by 6 or less points. These are the kind of games that mold young teams. Let's see what shape this one takes following a tough loss moving forward. It is a team lacking confidence. They need to simply go out and play and a leader has to emerge.

You honestly think they were relying on a guy Strickland for offense?? What makes you think that?

As frustrating as that game was, I'm not panicking yet. It was the team's first true road game in front of 15,000. It was brutal early, but they fought back and should have won. If they make a couple of free throws they win the game, and if they didn't commit a couple boneheaded reach in fouls they win the game.

The defense and pressure clearly frustrated Nebraska which is something to take from the game. I like the screens that Ellis and Clark are setting for Caupain, but Ellis needs to take a stronger, more decisvie angle to the basket after he sets those screens.

As bad of a 3 pt shot that was by Moore when he came off the bench, I like his confidence to shoot and try to bust them out of the long slump.

Realistically I'll be happy if they take 1 of the next 2 games at home. They should be able to make up ground in conference play. Hopefully by conference tourney time they'll be playing well and can compete for a conference tourney title.

If Sanders is not making open 3's and committing ridiculous fouls, not sure he shoudl be on the floor.
