I think we will be very good next season, better talent than this year's team. We won't have as good as a record than we did this year because of tougher schedule.

It is all about building towards late February and March. This team maxed out on their potential in late January. Next year's team will most likely lose a few more games in the OOC because the schedule will be tough but I think they'll be hitting their stride late in the conference season. The offensive potential is tantalizing on the wings and the backcourt.

Growing pains are almost a certainty but remember we will be young. The losses we take will be avenged when these bOys mature. By the time the soon to be sophomores and freshman are juniors and seniors, we could witness something special. I am so excited to watch Mormon, Caupain, Johnson, and Co. The next 3-4 years gentlemen. Ala Illinois circa 2005?? Who knows.

These three will probably not start together next year but I would love to see tc, kj, and morman get some minutes together in a three guard line up, those guys will get out and run. Morman is scary athletic. Put shaq at 4 and deberry at 5, I know it's small but could be very effective at times next year.
Most people on here think the starting 5 will be:
Troy
Kj, or a juco
Shaq
Lawrence
Deberry
I'm not disagreeing or saying it shouldn't be that but mick is very loyal to seniors and to think no seniors will start is hard. But unless they improve I agree they come off the bench, but the others will have to earn those spots. Could guyn have a jj like off season, he has the physical gifts to do so but needs to work on his handles, make moves going forward not side to side and learn to get to the hoop and finish, I hope he does but not sure.
Shaq-needs better handles and strength, time to take that step
Lawrece- strength an dedication, he has the potential just needs to go to work this summer on his body and game and it takes a commitment
Clark and morman will by young but factors, morman is a tough kid and will have a good year.
Main question is if we don't get torian who is the go to clutch player? Troy, shaq, and kevin are canadites maybe lawrence but he needs to improve
I think we will be very good again next year, yes young but young can win

Oh I wasn't saying starting lineup. I was just saying those 3 guys plus maybe a juco will play the 3

Sanders and Guyn will be seniors, they are starters until they give Mick a big reason to lose their spots. Sanders was recruited at the 2 and played there his first two years, not unlikely he plays there again

Guyn
Sanders
Shaq
Lawrence
Deberry

Sanders has never played the 2 guard and wasn't recruited to do so every recruiting service listed him as a forward because that is his position. You are incorrect.

My memory must be failing me because I clearly remember Mick talking this year about how crazy it was that they had to use Sanders at the 4 spot at times this year when he was recruited as a 2 guard, and I also remember either last year or two years ago SK talking about how he wanted Sanders to do well because he's the guy that subs in for him

next years team

just my opinion but I think clark as a freshman will be better than shaq as a junior- I haven't been this high on a player since bobby brannon.

Leave it to Dan Hoard to put things in positive perspective: http://www.gobearcats.com/blog/2014/03/inability-to-finish-ends-bearcats-season.html

"We worked really hard on trying to make sure we finished with strength," said Cronin. "But, like Justin alluded to it, we had way too many one hand shots. Way too many one hand shots. We just were sloppy and didn't get the ball in the basket."

That problem is being addressed. Next year's roster additions include Jamaree Strickland (6'10, 270 lbs), Coreontae DeBerry (6'10, 270 lbs), Quadri Moore (6'8", 230 lbs) and Gary Clark (6'7, 215 lbs). They are not freakishly athletic shot blockers who are projects on the offensive end. Strickland, DeBerry, and Moore are broad-shouldered post players who are comfortable in the paint, and Clark is a versatile big man who is capable of scoring inside. It's hard to imagine seeing 16 missed layups on a play-by-play sheet.

Anyone know when Clark, Moore, and DeBerry will arrive on campus. Are they expected to play in the summer league? I know Mick is not a fan of summer ball, so I wonder if there will be a UC presence there this year. For us, it would be nice to see the new guys, and get an idea of how athletic and college ready they are, albeit in a glorified pickup game setting.

With the way Duke lost, UNC almost lost and a lot of these overtime games. March is such a crap shoot anymore. I was really POed on Thursday, but have come to realize that judging a whole season a failure by this 1 game in March is not the way to think about it.

How do you explain Coach frieking K losing to a 14 and 15 seeds 2 out of the last 3 years? Duke's talent level is far superior to those teams, coaching is superior yet they still lose.

There were a number of things that contributed to the loss that easily could have swung UCs direction. Hell, if that prayer 3 doesn't go in at the end of the shot clock the game had a whole different look. A lot of ifs.

Hopefully next year Mick rolls with the future of this program. My biggest fear is Sanders and Guyn will both get 25+ minutes, hampering the development of the young guys. Now if they have a JJ type improvement that's one thing, but if JS and GG are they same players as this year the minutes MUST go to the young guys.

I think that's possibly a reason why we peaked early this year. Second guessing Mick, if he had played Johnson early in the year some of our offensive struggles could have been limited by having another option.

Davis transfer really hurt us. Sooner or later I believe he would've started at G

Davis was in his 3rd year in the program and was getting no playing time. The freshman guards this year were better than him, and his playing time would not have increased. He was too slow of foot and constantly lost on defense. Not a good recipe if you want to play for MC. I am happy for him that he went somewhere that he would get playing time, and that he is closer to family.

If last summer was any indication, the incoming freshman won't play in the summer league. They maybe played 2 games last year and wasted my time on a couple occasions. Luckily I live in norwood so it wasn't a big deal but I dont like to go to Woodward just because lol.

You live in the 'wood now? Where the "N" stands for knowledge and the "O" honor! Better known as the "gem of the highlands!" Are you in north Norwood or south Norwood? I am so close to Xavier that I could walk there in 5-10 minutes, always get stuck in traffic after their games. XU fans are the worst drivers out there, haha!
