What? Memphis and Nebraska had everything to play for against us. Other teams were playing a top 20 ranked team and some were in the conference tournament when their very season was on the line. What are you talking about?

Im putting my stock in a player who scores at all three levels, no longer has a first team all american taking all of his minutes, is a great defender, and hit big shots at key moments last season when given the opportunity.

Ill give you Memphis and Nebraska but only 8 times last year did KJ score 7 or more but 7 time he also scored 0 so I'm not giving him the # 2 spot and If you want to know the teams he scored 7 or more against it was

UmassLowell-7
USC Upstate-9
Chicago State-10
Nebraska-11
Memphis-7
UCF-8
Rutgers-8
Temple-7

To me those teams are a bunch of nobody's and nothing to play for.

Now look up how many minutes SK played in the biggest games.

I think all BearcatNation was saying was he is still an uncertainty. Just from reading about him I am imagining a 3 point specialist that will play 10-15 minutes a game. Come in running baseline to baseline for open corner threes and have guys kick the ball out to him off drives.

Last year Troy and KJ both impressed me with their range and shooting. Guyn was impressive as well and hit some big ones. The reason I had Cobb on there was just from what I read.

I definitely agree with your theory on Cobb.

Johnson can easily average double figures, but both him and Troy need to settle in and not force things or they'll be over taken by Cobb and Morman.

Agreed. I don't think anything is a given at the guard spots. The truth is, Cobb and Morman looked better in the Bellarmine game. That doesn't mean they are ready to start or that they will overtake Caupain and KJ, but right now there is not that much separation between our 5 guards. All can and will contribute, but it remains to be seen which ones will step up their production and leadership. We know what Guyn gives us. Caupain and KJ showed flashes last year, but I'm not ready to crown either yet. Morman and Cobb are still unknown but we like what we see.

KJ could be the next sk but can't even start? wow our future is in big trouble.

You're way too worried about the starting lineup. We have had 1 exhibition game. Long time still to sort things out. Last year we had the same starters all year...I'd bet that won't happen this year. Plus, KJ did start in the Bahamas game, and led the team in scoring I think. So I'm not sure how you can be so sure that he'll never crack the starting lineup this year.

Mick started Moore in the Bahamas come on, and if it wasn't for KJ hitting 3 threes in a row he did nothing else. Also your exactly right Mick started the same lineup all last year and will do it again this year, you start your best players and Mick starts experience. One year of playing 5 minutes a game is not experience, KJ has a lot to learn and is not that good and in game one of the year he's proved me right and a lot of others on here including you wrong so we will see what happens.

We get it, you think KJ sucks...sheesh, give it a rest.

What was so wrong with Moore starting in the Bahamas? He had a double double. With the 3 seniors gone, I think Mick will have to try different combinations for a couple games to see whar works. I'd say Ellis is the only one guaranteed to start all season. Very possibly Shaq and Guyn...but outside of that, I don't know if anyone can say for sure at this point.

Lack of perspective and reality. "If it wasn't for KJ hitting those 3 threes in a row" Uhhh but he did hit those 3 three's in a row and effectively put the game out of reach. The ability to do that is incredibly important. The article also doesnt state he is the next SK, it says he is the favorite to replace him. Who starts is completely meaningless. It is about how many minutes you play and what minutes those are. Drawing any final conclusion from one exhibition game is pure insanity. His performance on Monday night proved no one right or wrong. It is a very small snapshot in a very large picture. The large picture suggests his future is very bright and for the sake of this year's team they are going to need him to be a very good player.

You have to do more than hit 3 threes in a game against the youth league to take over for SK.

Second you are very wrong about starting not being important, you start your best players. If KJ averages 15 ppg off the bench do you think he starts starting? Ummm yeah he would because he becomes one of the best 5 players.

Thirdly I didn't say I drew a conclusion from one game I'm just saying so far I'm right and others are wrong but maybe next game he will get 15 points who knows.

Something I read today! Check it out! This boy can play I flat out know it! I'm at practice everyday! They are closed to some but not me. http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaab/eye...akout-players-for-the-2014-15-season?v=1&vc=1

That is the article that got this convo started!
Are you really talking about practice wow you might as well make him an all American now that he's lighting it up in practice!
Did anyone stop and think maybe this kid has to much pressure being a hometown kid and having family watch every home game? Also the pressure to follow SK's legacy?

Who they were playing is irrelevant to my point. Its about the ability to make shots consistently. Also KJ had 17 points and led the team in that game so he did more than just make 3's.

It simply does not matter who starts. Especially on this team. They all are going to get the opportunity to play. If Guyn starts but KJ plays more minutes how would it matter who starts? Mick can mix and match based on many different factors. Who is playing at winning time is what matters.
