I think Mick was hoping Troy would be close to 6'5" the whole time. But before we start throwing numbers like 6'6" around, do we have anything besides a few instagram pictures to go off of?

I was going to ask him on twitter haha. But from my understanding is people saw a picture of him and Morman and he looks to be taller than Morman. How tall is morman though? There is a picture of Morman and Lawrence and Lawrence looks to be a little less than a head taller than Morman. If lawrence is 6'9", how tall is morman? and in turn how tall is TC?

Now my head is spinning. I never liked algebra

Hopefully someone on the board who is over 6 feet tall will run into TC somewhere around town and be able to fill us in. I saw the picture with him, Morman, and KJ, and it looked like Morman was the shortest of the 3. But they weren't standing completely side by side or straight up, so it's hard to tell from a picture.

Why would he lose speed? LeBron is 6'8"... he looks pretty fast to me. D-Rose (pre-injury) and John Wall are 2 of the fastest point guards in the league and they are both 6'4".

I have to correct myself -- Derrick Rose is actually listed at 6'3".

Morman was listed 6'3-6'4 but I always wondered why he didn't sit on bench and who was that shortest guy sitting on bench. Morman is no where near 6'3. Kj not even 6'3 and he looks to have morman by inch or two.

Cash never averaged 5
Vaughn never averaged 5
Went back and checked stats to see what Van exel did. Never averaged 5

Cash also just won his leagues tourny. Didnt average 5 assists

I think Troy averaging around 4 assists is pretty fair
You just named our 3 of the top 4 SCORING PG we've had in past 25yrs. TC, is known for pass first something neither of them guys were known for. I really don't remember Nicks passing but Cash and Vaughn couldn't run fast break to save their life.

I'll just ask it. If Caupain is actually 6'5" or 6'6", is that really a good thing? I feel like that's REALLY tall for a point guard. He'd lose a little bit of speed, right? His handles could suffer too. If you think I'm crazy, that's fine. If a shooting guard were growing, I'd be psyched, but I'm not sure I want a huge point guard.
I don't know if being a tall point guard would work out for TC if he is actually 6'5", but there some great point guards such as Michael Carter-Williams, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Andrew Harrison who are 6'5" or taller.

TC might have the best all around game since Satterfield. Satterfield as a soph was 14.4 ppg 4.7 rpg 5.1 apg in 34.4 minutes. Troy wont get those minutes I dont think, but he will be on par with those stats per minute this year.

Now that I looked at our roster and guys were recruiting for next year. It looks like Clark his here to eventually take over the 3.

Troy is already a PG. Growing a couple inches over a year isnt going to destroy his PG skills. If he was always a 6'5" SG and we were trying to make him a PG, thatd be one thing...but he is and always has been a tall PG. Getting taller is nothing but good for Caupain.

No scouting report or anyone who has scouted him has said he is a 3. Its basically a consensus 4 all around. The only mentions of him playing the 3 are on this board as far as I have seen. And Ill take Chads word for it that he is a 4 and not a 3

Mick said he could see him as a 3. I doubt that will be a real conversation though at least for a couple years.

the is all about being versatile and I think clark brings that -rebounding /slashing to the basket/getting to the line... now defense and outside shooting are questionmarks just like they are with shaq

OK that's pretty low. I thought he had numerous games with more than 6

He had 2 games where he had 6 or more assists..
9 - At Temple
6 - At UCF

3 games he had 5 assists
7 games with zero assists
7 games with one assist

For him to average 6.5 APG he would need around 220 assists for the season, last year he had 76 total.

not saying it couldnt happen by his 3-4 year in the program, but everytime this gets brought up on this board or another Chad quickly comes in to say hes a 4. He bases it off his ability to guard around the perimeter and his outside shooting. Also his strengths fit more of a 4.

PErsonally, I dont care where he plays, as long as wherever it is he isnt on the wrong end of a mismatch

He is coming in as a four. If he develops the ability to play the three over his time here, he will be used there some but that is at least one year from even being a remote possibility...

Exactly. Why play Clark at a position where he would be average at best when you can put him in a spot to be a match up problem on both ends...
