Not as bad as it seems.

L-T, I do not follow the cats because Mick is the coach. I think there is some merit to your point concerning what will attract kids. The number 1 thing is playing time and exposure and can he get me to the next level. Mick has built a nice program around kids who will be here 4 years and hopefully graduate. He has also got them to the NCAA. I have no interest in rooting for a team like KY that brings 5 news starters almost every year and graduates no one. I have kids that were athletes. I know how tough it is for them to get to class and practice and stay eligible. They played sports that did not have the pro pot of gold. That doesn't mean I begrudge the kids that can make a living playing a game. I think they shouldn't even have to go to college to enter the draft. Now if your telling me you think Mick has underachieved or has reached his ceiling do what you got to do. I am satisfied rooting for the kids he brings in. I wish the results were a bit better but I'm fine at this time with our situation. If there is a way to improve our situation without turning us into a KY. You have my support.
I root for championships. if i cared about graduation I'll go be fan of the geek squad. One class of KY NBA recruits make more money in 5 seasons than Micks 100 graduates go makin in lifetime. AD alone making 35mil year

Maybe the players are better because the coach continued to show confidense in them. One thing is certain. The more you play, the better you get (if you're on the lower end of the rotation). Has Caupain gotten better with more minutes? No, his shooting has gotten a lot worse. Is it fatigue? Maybe. Who knows? With our talent level, I think depth is key. Just my opinion.
Its also certain that some kids are just better then others. Its not always certain the more you play the better you get. Some kids just do not work out. Some take longer then others. TC's minutes have not changed drastically. The point is still you earn you minutes in practice and it is the coaches decision who has demonstrated that. To sit here and debate his rotation with very limited information is not particle. Again if your not happy with the state of the program take it up with the BOT. Hell make yourself available for the job. Honestly I think it will be years before we are ever a NCAA champion if then in todays college athletics. Lots of factors go into my thought process and they are not limited to who coaches the team. I'm a businessman and budget is huge in the success of any operation. That in itself puts us at a huge disadvantage compared to schools like TOSU to name one.

yes they do but not all kids can be NBA players. If they could they wouldn't be worth all that money. Cal helps few Graduation helps many. I do not begrudge any kid who makes it to the league. I think they should not even have to go to college. But I have a bunch of respect for all the kids who graduate and stay 4 years. After all if not for them what kind of game would it be?

Waite, we are spending mega-millions of dollars in this football and basketball programs. I'm certain that the goal is to not to achieve the status quo. We're trying to be a bigger player in the college football and basketball landscapes. We can't keep investing this much money and then keep coaches who can't rise up and meet the higher expectations. Bottom line!

We are spending mega millions but in reality that is not even close to what the big programs are spending. If you ask me has Tuberville underachieved. Absolutely!!! As for Mick I really do not think so. With his budget and his facilities I think he gets a good return in todays college athletics. Now if BOT is not happy with his performance and want to go in a new direction I would caution them that they better hit a home run. Finding guys that get you to the tournament every year and graduate your players and consider this a destination job are not easy to find.

Then you better find a new team to root for. The last Championship we won was in 1962 I believe. That's about 54 years ago. With our budget and our facilities compared to what the competition can throw at us I doubt we see one in what's left of our lifetime.

X has actually demonstrated that it is relatively easy to change coaches and keep on rolling. Do we care if the coach sees this as his destination job if he is not a great coach? The tradition of this program insures that we'll get talented coaches applying. Mick has the 22nd highest salary in college basketball out of 350 schools. Do you honestly think #22 makes this a non-destination job? That kind of income potential would attract plenty of very good coaching prospects.
The #5 ranked school would not be a destination job if #1 wanted to hire him. At one point, I highly valued the fact that Mick wanted to be here forever. Not so much anymore.

Good thing Butler, George Mason, VCU, Dayton, etc. don't think like this. Our own school proved we were capable of being #1 and potentially winning it all not too long ago. That was before the parity in college basketball proved it more possible than ever today to win it all as more and more cinderella teams continue to prove it's possible.

Again for me if you want to bring in someone who can elevate the program and graduate players I'm fine with that. I do not want a team full of 1 and doners. Just my preference. I do think you'll find that for what he has accomplished mick is well respected and will not be out of a job long. I also think you'll have a difficult time convincing anyone to let him go.

I guess Indiana should give up. After all, it's been almost 30 years since they have won a title. There are only 14 teams who have won more tha once, us being one of them. Until Florida won in 2006 and 2007, they had never won a single one. I guess they should have had nobody rooting for them.

There is a difference in those schools. They didn't fire their coach he left. They also never won the title. They make the dance same as us rarely if ever winning a title. Don't give me close to a title. Who was the last Cinderella to win a title?? Parity, your kidding right. I' m not saying we can not find a new coach. But if Mick is making all that jack some one thinks he is doing a good job.

How many titles has X ever won? Should their fans switch over to someone else this year?

They made the final four and/or the championship game. I'd say it was highly possible at that point. You're kidding right?

Look Your a big donor. Go make your argument To the BOT. If they agree and make a change and we win a title I'll thank you but if we turn into DePaul that will be ugly. Hell tell them you'll lead the search COMMITTEE.

I think we're going to play one of our best games of the season today.

Jacob...this is the type of game where Jenifer can hopefully get a few more minutes to impress the coach. It's clear he's not going to be trusted when we are in a dog fight (so far anyway).

He's had plenty of practices and cupcakes to impress the coach. I like what I see for the most part but obviously there are things keeping him out of the game whether it's D or turnovers or shot selection (which I doubt)...or a combination.

I think we will see more of him
