Yup, so dumb. They continue to not know how to play with a lead. How many bad 3's did we take that led to ND scoring quickly right after? At least a handful.

We can blame the IQ all we want. And I agree its horrible on this team.

But is that not the offense? To shoot 3's and not look to the inside?

We might as well just let modji post up and make a shot maybe he could learn how to draw a foul...maybe? Can't be any worse than what we are getting right?

Hold open tryouts. Maybe one of the football guys has a post game

Cash had to shoot a step-back shot because just like the St Johns, Rubles has no idea to set a screen for his teammates...

Watch the play, brother. He could've blown past Cooley. As the announcers said, "They need to take the ball to the basket, here."

R2G Cincinnati had 18 assists last night on 23 baskets. That's good passing. To end the first half they shot 6 3 pointers and missed two lay ups. Cash not going to the basket at the end of the game against Cooley again comes down to iq and understanding a situation. 18 assists, 47% shooting is not an inefficient offense. 7 second half turnovers, 5-11 from the ft line, and inability to guard the pick and roll lost the game. Go back and look at the game and you will find every time UC got close or tied in the second half they committed turnovers and wasted trips. Parker had 2 travelling calls in successive trips with the score tied.

Again, I agree with your principle, but a stagnant offense did not cost them last night. They were efficient, but against a team like ND you cannot waste trips. You can't allow them to hit 6 straight 3 pointers. You can't shoot 45% from the ft line. You have to guard the pick and roll and you can't have 7 second half turnovers. They assisted on 78% of their made baskets. You have to play smarter and hit ft's.

No that's iq! Understanding that when you get a lead you look for good shots and don't try to end the game all at once. They had 18 assists for goodness sake and hit 47% and 42% from the field. They moved and shared the ball. Not to mention that other teams only need to guard 3 UC players. UC had to guard 6 or 7 capable scorers.

My point being that all season we have relied on the same style of offense. The 3, for the most part. They shot 3's all day vs those crap teams at the beginning of the season and everyone ooowed and awwwed over, except a few of us on this board. Thats the offense

And yes, obv you want to take the ball to the hoop in that situation. Its the same principles, to me, with Rubles shooting. Yes bball knowledge tells you knock down the open jumper to extend the defense. We all learned that in gradeschool. But each case is different.

Did Cash not hit the game winning fade-away vs Bama when he should have drove? Like I said we can talk about the IQ all we want, which Im sure we can all agree on this team has little of. But Mick and this team have to find ways to put pts on the board. And mid 50s to low 60s in this league wont cut it.

Hey Ralph, what was your prediction of the game and what was mine? That's right, I was right. I know you wanna say it.

You stated the Bengals were going to lose the last 2 games and miss the playoffs, the Bengals won the last 2 games and made the playoffs.

This game I really have a gripe with Cronin and the defense. Why all game did we continue to get burned on our rotations and clearly could not defend a pick and roll for 40 min. I saw no adjustments and we looked like chickens running around. That defense was some of the worst I've seen. How many times did you see 2-3 guys stuck on one player leaving a shooter wide open. Piss poor

Why are you always the debbie downer?

You do realize that Mick is going to be the coach for the next 25 years?

Not every season is going to be a National Championship year, some are going to be worse or better than others. UC does not have UK money.

Teams go through stretches of playing bad and playing well. UC has been in every game they have lost, 2 one point losses and a 6 point loss. The sky is not falling chicken little, the NCAA tourney is 2 and 1/2 months away. It is not how you are playing in January that matters.

I noticed this in the OOC as well, those teams just couldnt shoot a lick

But wouldnt it be fun to watch the Cats run an offense like that? Or maybe just a few picks and screens. Like maybe just 1

How many college basketball games have you coached?

How many college basketball players have you recruited?

Agree here totally. It would be nice, considering no one actual sets a solid screen and really could be called for a moving screen every time its not doing anything but helping the opposition.

This is 3 straight home losses now which is a huge let down. I am wondering if these kids can handle the pressure of playing at home in front of a big home crowd.

Id assume just as many as you have

And how many has Mick Cronin coached and recruited?

I will take Mick's decisions on who to play, what offense and defense to run, etc., etc., over those of any message board poster.

Mick saved UC basketball, he deserves a statue at 5/3rd arena.
