i wonder if jj would've made a diffrence tonight. not on offense so much but on d. long arms to disturbed passing lanes and more physical then gaines.

The Bearcats shot just shy of 47%. They shot 42% from the 3 and only 45% from the foul line (5-11). ND shot 50% from the field, 56% from the 3 and 69% from the ft line. Shooting was not our problem tonight. I think we just got beat.

Still, they need to attack. I agree the shooting wasn't as bad today, but this team needs to get easy buckets. Defensively, we looked lost trying to guard the little white boys who just jack up 3s. Frustrating, because usually we are solid defensively. Poor rotations today.

he would have been better than Gaines/David N/Mbodj tonight due to his length, speed, and energy...he would have been able to rotate faster and possibly challenge the open 3...if he could have pressured 2 shots, he would have made a difference...Gaines was lost...and Mbodj played like a 7 footer for 2 minutes...i am hoping we use JJ more, and go small and fast here on out

That 47% is in spite of a terrible offensive philosophy. I'm just tired of stagnant possessions and heaving a prayer at the buzzer. Numerous times the cats did nothing only to be bailed out by a desperation three.

Rubles skill set is overrated in my opinion...he is out of control...he is very out of shape...he gets winded too quickly...he has a scorer's mentality with an average shot...he cannot dribble left at all...his head fake is super effective, but once he gets passed his defender, he has 3 strategies: 1) shoot the 18ft jumper 2) drive uncontrollably to rim and hope the ref calls a defensive foul 3) dribble back out to the 3pt line...it boils down to the kid shoots too damn much with very little results...1-9 tonight...0-3 from 3...i just do not see what everyone loves about this kid

I agree with a lot of what you said but for a 6'8" guy I think he has pretty good handles and he has good court vision. He just plays too tentative, even when he's shooting a lot. However, I think in a structured offense his talents would be better used. Same with SK's.

the difference is the SK has proven he can shoot and score...Rubles' leash has been a lot longer than other guys on the team, including Jackson...quite frankly, i am getting tired of seeing him get this much playing time...his defense does warrant this...nor does his offense

Exactly.

All those impressive stats and 9to's and we struggle to put up 60? Thats not going to get it done

We can harp on this defense nonsense all we want, but until it starts generating some points, were not going to win too many games in the 50's low 60's

Not to mention JJs 4 turnovers he usually brings to the game.

don't sell the young man short...can't forget the possibility of three fouls in 5 min.

just think he should have seen the floor sometime in the second half. idk, maybe when cm picked up number 4. kg got burned on d a few times tonight.

I totally agree about the leash. He takes way too many bad shots. Of course you could say the same about half the team. Guyn enters the game and on his first touch he immediately jacks up a 3 early in the shot clock. If Rubles is WIDE open and it's within the context of the offense I don't have a problem with him shooting it. But it should be at most 1-2 times a game.....as for his PT, there isn't anyone better. JJ isn't better, Shaq isn't better though he is improving, Sanders isn't better. He is the best we got. I also think Rubles can provide a mismatch but UC doesn't exploit it. He has good post moves but is never on the post.

A logical breakdown of the game is a losing proposition on this board after a loss. Overreaction and hyperbole reign supreme.

What was up with Jackson not seeing the floor tonight?? I understand maybe sending a message about play or something, but not playing at all? I think that is a little ridiculous

I was reading the post game quotes from Cronin, I hope there was some sarcasm in those remarks. Gaines played really well? He sucked balls on defense and is worthless on the offensive end. We need to score more points to win? No sh!t Sherlock. My god how quick is this team going down the crapper. He had the balls to say they missed a few rotations? A few?!! They were scrambling around for 35 min. out of position. What a joke.

Mick stated on his post game radio show Jackson not playing was a coach's decision.

Do you see how much energy we exert at the defensive end? Its unreal watching us fight through screens, chasing guys around, switching off on opponents.

Now can you imagine if other teams had to do that against our offense?

Were giving teams are free pass when we our in the half court set. Its like a 30sec timeout

You have to know an offense before you can teach it.

Gaines did play well. Guys there's a lot of season left. Every team will hit a skid. Chill Cincy sports fans. Lord.
