Season is finally here our cats take on western carolina friday night @7 inside 5/3 arena! WCU went 15-17 last season we should handle them pretty easily. I hope to see our offnese continue to excel and score between 80-90pts. What kind of crowd are you guys expecting? The student should be strong and loud for this one

I'm so pumped for the season to start. Next weekend is literally a weekend of UC. Bball games Friday and Sunday with Football on Saturday night. I would really like to see a crowd close to 10k but unfortunately I feel like this is just wishful thinking.

I was wishfully thinking the same thing. Last year we had a little over 7k for the opener in what was said to be a "rebuilding" year, there is definitely more excitement around this team. I expect a pretty solid crowd

So your telling me there's a chance?! :) Hopefully we match last season opener and then some. No reason not to come out and see the action live. They will be a fun group to watch!

As a student I can not think of a better pre-game for a Friday night than to watch the Bearcats start their season off with a big W. I hope the student body feels the same way. I saw a tweet regarding how there are only a couple hundred student block tickets available but that was last week. So, I would assume they have at least sold out of student tickets for the November games.

Everyone on here is extremely excited and high on this team and I love it. I don't want to jinx us but hopefully we are close to the days of old, I think this is the year all the bandwagon fans hop back on the wagon.

I hope so. Look at the Bengals tailgate parties

Bad timing as we get ready to reduce our seating capacity by close to 3,000 seats. Maybe we should rethink that. With the young talented recruits we have, this thing could really take off again.

So much buzz for the team this year. Feels great.

I love Fifth Third right now. I do. But just being in there for the first exhibition game and just looking around you can tell it's so outdated. Reducing the seating to make the arena more "intimate," as in having the seating closer to the floor, while updating the concourses, restrooms, concession stands, etc will really make the arena look new without having to build an entire new building. I am excited as hell for the renovation to take place.

Need better student section or move sweaters out way. I'll expand seating and just give out more student tickets and move student section center on both sides. Sweaters can move up to more comfortable luxury seating.

I don't they can renovate the arena up to the modern standards without removing capacity particularly because of how the seats in the top corner are oriented. I do agree that the fact that seating capacities will be reduced down to less than 11k sucks.

The latest plans are to only drop capacity to 12k, which I think is the right way to go. The new plans look amazing, hopefully they get the $40mil in fundraising by December.

I dont see that ever happening at UC with how much money most of those donors pay to sit where they do. Plus, now i sit down there so i wouldnt be for it either haha

Some notes from exhibition...

Shaq: 2nd on team in scoring, T1 assists, 8-9 FT's, T4 in blocks, needs to get rebounds up

Caupain: First or T1 in assists and steals, lowest in fouls and turnovers. Shot the ball well and 3rd in scoring

Cobb: T1 in steals (4) and FT % (6-6), shot the ball pretty well, 4th in scoring, needs to keep his fouls down.

Ellis: 1st in blocks, 3rd in assists, 2nd in rebounds. He wasn't heavily involved but I do like the assist number and that he wasn't forcing shots.

Clark: 1st in rebounding by a mile, T2 blocks, 3rd in steals. Lead the team in turnovers (4) and was 0-3 at the line.

KJ: 1st in scoring, 3 pt % (8-12). Looked pretty solid across the board

Evans: 5th in scoring, 100% 2pt FG % (5-5), 100% from the line (4-4), T2 in turnovers

Moore: FG% was good (5-7 or 71%), 3pt 2-3, FT's 3-4, per minute was 3rd in rebounds, T2 in blocks, T1 in fouls and T2 in turnovers no assists no steals.

Jenifer: Played one very good game and one not so good. Shot well in one game and poor in the other, had 4 assists in one game and 0 in the other, had 1 foul in one game and 5 in the other.

DeBerry: 6-7 from the line, 2nd in rebounds per minute, T2 in turnovers, T4 in blcoks

Scott: all in all not many stat fillers good or bad, didn't shoot much and had a low %, Per minute played I think he was 4th in rebounds

Hey all, going down Friday for the first time since I was a kid. Are there scalpers selling tickets down there?
Also, was wondering if you guys think lower sideline seats will be sold out or if I have a chance of getting them on game night if I didn't find any outside?
Thanks in advance.
