You must be missing my point. Obviously the coach has laid the groundwork and has done 99% of the prep work that goes into a BB team. If Kmart 's presence gets the team a little more excitement or a new perspective from a player standpoint...I don't think it's an indictment on the coach.

Lol...I think you're missing mine too. I don't think anyone indicted him. I think some just raised some hypothetical points.

Look, I get it. I'm as critical of Cronin as anyone. I have high standards. But that doesn't mean every single thing he does has to be wrong in some way. As a fan, nothing wrong with sitting back and enjoying last week imo. To take our effort and results from last week and turn it into "just another reason why our coach is terrible" takes effort.
Couldn't agree more Jacob. Look we spend far to much time trying to berate the coach and defend him. We have the biggest game of the year coming up in my opinion and most of the chatter is about Coach not the game. Does it not make sense to evaluate how the season went upon completion then In the middle? I'm not pointing the finger here at anyone. I have participated in those conversations in the past. I have made a promise to myself to eliminate that. I block people who I feel have that agenda. hell is they do not like my dialogue they can block me.

Let me be clear.....however Kenyon got here....bravo! Get him here again.
That is not an indictment.

The indictment comes from the fact that teams like Dayton, St. Marys, VCU, Valparaiso, Hawaii, Utah, UAB, Chattanooga, Navy, Colorado, and Grand Canyon are getting votes for the Top 25 and Cincinnati, with its deepest, most experienced, most talented team in many years can not even get a single vote. The experts obviously don't give a damn how close we came to beating various teams. We're on cloud 9 about beating Memphis and Tulane and everyone else views us lower than the above listed historically pathetic basketball programs. That is the sad truth.

You must have came in late. The original poster I responded to used the word "indictment on Mick" a couple of times

I agree with you and Jacob. I keep hearing about this ignore feature but have no clue how to use it. Can I really block someone's account so I don't have to see what he/she says. I want to talk about and read about the positives. Not read ones opinion on every move a coach makes. Cronin cant even take his jacket off without taking heat. Sick of reading it. Big game Thursday.

I saw the comment, but I think he only meant it was an indictment if in fact it was Kenyon who caused the change in the team's performance as some were suggesting. Maybe I'm wrong. But, we don't need to argue on this anymore. I think we understand each other now.

I think it's much more likely that people were reading WAY to far into the Kenyon may have helped us discussion.

Obviously a player who hasn't set foot on the court for over 15 years cannot be THE reason why the team plays well. They can maybe help give an emotional spark or some helpful tips.

This team does not need to tweak much to be really good. If anything Kmart was a nice tweak...that's it...he should not be the new coach for God sake. Geesh. Maybe an assistant would be nice or consultant.

Wouldn't President Obama love it if everyone just wanted to hear the positives. He is the CEO of our country and for 7 years has heard non-stop negativity about his performance. Nobody seems to have a problem with negativity directed at the President of the United States. But, we don't want to hear any negativity directed at the President of UC Basketball. His salary is 6 times the salary of the President of the United States, but if Grand Canyon is ranked higher than Cincinnati, let's just hear the positives. Amazing!

Awesome! Thanks.

I don't care if it's negative or positive as long as it's rational. Some people prefer "non stop negativity" as you say (or even the opposite)...which in general is not ruled by the brain but usually ruled by uncontrolled emotions.

We're 8-6 in our last 14 games. We're looking up at teams like Grand Canyon, Navy, Valparaiso, Chattanooga, Hawaii, UAB, etc. We're in 6th place in a crappy mid-major conference behind teams like Central Florida, Temple, Tulsa, etc. All this with our deepest, most talented, most experienced roster in the Cronin era.

I'd say it is a lot more rational to be negative right now than to gloat over a 4 point home victory over an average Memphis and a beat-down of a pathetic Tulane team.

Well....when you put it that way...I would tend to agree.

Not sure who's "gloating". Most of the positive posts I have seen are tempered with caution. Maybe not all...but most.
