Use the block feature people. Then the thread won't get into fights about our own players.
99% of us want all our players to do well and will accept any one of them leading us to be a better team. 1% seems to want guys to fail so they can say I told you so. Just block those members.
Really? Do we really need to block our fellow fans? Bulldog is controversial because he speaks his mind, but I have no doubt he is a huge fan of the Bearcats. He only suggested what his starting 5 would be, just like everyone else, but because he suggested something different than everyone else, he should be blocked, ignored, or whatever? I don't think so.
The fact is, if anyone out there
wouldn't like to see Ellis and Deberry in the lineup together, then you're crazy. For a myriad of possible reasons, it probably won't happen. But, I agree with Bulldog. That is a combination I would love to see. The question is what we would do at the "3" position. I'm not sure I want to see Clark at the 3, however, I think he is a little better ball handler than many give him credit for. For me, if we went with Ellis and Deberry, then I might go a little smaller at the other three spots and go with Caupain at the three (because he rebounds well), along with Cobb, and then Jenifer. I only say Jenifer because at this moment, I'm on his bandwagon based on how much I liked him at the scrimmage. With those three guards, Jenifer would not be under constant pressure to always handle the ball, although based on what I saw the other day, this guy needs to handle the ball....sooner rather than later. On the radio yesterday, Mick said these freshmen are perhaps the smartest newcomers we've ever had enter the program and that he feels that they will become his best recruiting class. With those kinds of comments from the coach, it perhaps adds credence to the comments that some are making about Jenifer and Evans and their possible impact on the program.
The fact is that we have an abundance of really good players and that creates many options of player combinations that we can use. I'll bet we see Bulldog's suggested lineup at some time this year (not sure if Mick will start them that way though), and if the results are amazing, we'll see it more. That's the great thing about our depth. As for me, at this moment, I would obviously agree with the majority and say my starting lineup would be Caupain, Cobb, Shaq, Clark, and Ellis, but I'm hoping that Jenifer is the real deal and forces his way into the mix quickly. Deep down, I would love to see Deberry in there with Ellis, and Clark coming off the bench, but I see both sides of the argument. All three guys are going to be huge pieces of this puzzle, so it doesn't matter all that much.
