5'9 that's play's bigger than all our guards combined.

So 5'9 Jenifer plays bigger than 6'4 Caupain (who is an excellent rebounder)?

Please explain.

Troy is the starting PG, please stop. You're ruining this board by making people take sides when we all want everyone on the roster to be successful. you did this last year with Johnson.

Use the block feature people. Then the thread won't get into fights about our own players.

99% of us want all our players to do well and will accept any one of them leading us to be a better team. 1% seems to want guys to fail so they can say I told you so. Just block those members.

I said every guard!!! Get off Caupain surfboard. You ever watch A1 young buck? 5'9-5'11 guys from city always play bigger than size. If jenifer was 6'4 he wouldn't be on our team so root the guy on. And I NEVER had debate ovrr Johnson.

If you don't like oh well. Get over it and move on. It's REALLY pathetic you guys want act like I've called Caupain weak. Called him a pro 2 NOBODY seen that huh? I've took Cobb and my favorite player on team Shaq out lineup, let's discuss that. I have Caupain going pro at 2 if he embraces move.

For me, my problem with this lineup is that we have our three best big guys on the floor at once. I am all about bringing Deberry in for Ellis if he gets into foul trouble or something along those lines. Same for Clark. If Gary gets into foul trouble, move Ellis to the 4, Deberry into the 5.

Stop worrying so much. You could bring any of Shaq, kj, Cobb off bench at first tv timeout and go off performance from there. If we could jump out to 5-7 point lead at first timeout, with our defense and depth you put other team in hole early. We don't have any stars that needs play 35 so every game I'm going off performance not favoritism.

There are multiple reasons that lineup won't happen. Foul trouble of course and Clark is not a perimeter player...he's more of a back to the basket 4. He doesn't even have a reliable mid range shot yet or serviceable dribbling skills for a perimeter player. You're going to clog the lane with 3 post up players and put two on the perimeter? I'm not sure we will see this lineup at any point in any game.

Here is what you said about Jenifer a while back:

"We need bigger guards. Jenifer, kj, Cobb all little. I hope Evans can dribble"

So before Jenifer was too little, now he plays big and it isn't a problem?

His cousins, sisters, boyfriend lives in Baltimore and said he plays like a guy 6'9". Problem solved...

I think we can all agree that we're happy you're not the head coach.

Really? Do we really need to block our fellow fans? Bulldog is controversial because he speaks his mind, but I have no doubt he is a huge fan of the Bearcats. He only suggested what his starting 5 would be, just like everyone else, but because he suggested something different than everyone else, he should be blocked, ignored, or whatever? I don't think so.

The fact is, if anyone out there wouldn't like to see Ellis and Deberry in the lineup together, then you're crazy. For a myriad of possible reasons, it probably won't happen. But, I agree with Bulldog. That is a combination I would love to see. The question is what we would do at the "3" position. I'm not sure I want to see Clark at the 3, however, I think he is a little better ball handler than many give him credit for. For me, if we went with Ellis and Deberry, then I might go a little smaller at the other three spots and go with Caupain at the three (because he rebounds well), along with Cobb, and then Jenifer. I only say Jenifer because at this moment, I'm on his bandwagon based on how much I liked him at the scrimmage. With those three guards, Jenifer would not be under constant pressure to always handle the ball, although based on what I saw the other day, this guy needs to handle the ball....sooner rather than later. On the radio yesterday, Mick said these freshmen are perhaps the smartest newcomers we've ever had enter the program and that he feels that they will become his best recruiting class. With those kinds of comments from the coach, it perhaps adds credence to the comments that some are making about Jenifer and Evans and their possible impact on the program.

The fact is that we have an abundance of really good players and that creates many options of player combinations that we can use. I'll bet we see Bulldog's suggested lineup at some time this year (not sure if Mick will start them that way though), and if the results are amazing, we'll see it more. That's the great thing about our depth. As for me, at this moment, I would obviously agree with the majority and say my starting lineup would be Caupain, Cobb, Shaq, Clark, and Ellis, but I'm hoping that Jenifer is the real deal and forces his way into the mix quickly. Deep down, I would love to see Deberry in there with Ellis, and Clark coming off the bench, but I see both sides of the argument. All three guys are going to be huge pieces of this puzzle, so it doesn't matter all that much.

I almost feel like Bulldog is just trolling us.

There is always this one person who takes this hard stance despite all the evidence pointing away from there opinion.

Im not against Jenifer Playing more minutes. But your acting like we need to start him from the get go when he clearly hasn't earned that position.

He is trolling us. I have been searching for the block feature but I can't find it.

Anyway, I agree with you that Jenifer hasn't earned anything. All I have heard is that he can pass but I am hearing mixed results on his defense and I don't know how good of a shooter he is. You need to be able to play defense to start for Mick and Jenifer isn't there yet. Troy has earned his position. I would say he is the second best player on this team. He plays D, hustles and takes care of the ball. All extremely valuable to Mick. In no world is a freshman going to come in and take his spot from him. Hopefully Jenifer pushes him but it won't go any further than that.

I've been promoting Jenifer a lot also, but it is based off of seeing him one time. For the record, I loved Deshaun Morman and Jeremiah Davis as well. I sure hope we don't run Jenifer out of here too.:(

If Jenifer really is better, then I hope he not only pushes him, but he pushes him all the way to the bench, or if not Caupain, then he pushes someone else all the way to the bench. Why would you hope that Jenifer would push him but that it wouldn't go any further than that? I want it to go as far as it can, because the further it goes, the better our team will be. It's about playing the best 5 and if Jenifer proves to be one of the best 5, then he should play, no matter how we feel about Caupain. May the best man win!!!

He didn't say that he hopes it doesn't go further, but that it won't (meaning he doesn't think it will).

As for Bulldog, the issue isn't his opinion it's the way he expresses his opinion. Calling players bums and garbage is an example.

Personally I'd love to see if Ellis and DeBerry could play together. I'm not sure at this point how it would work though. Especially considering how good Clark can be. If Ellis wasn't on the team I'd feel very good about DeBerry being a starter and playing a majority of minutes, but Ellis is also too good to keep off the court (assuming he is in the game mentally).

Listen GuyFromNKY, I'm not sure if you were paying attention or not but Bulldog knows a guy who knows a guy who once saw Jenifer play in Baltimore. Plus he's a "city guard" and everyone knows that city guards play big and he's already the best player on our team. Jenifer is already starting, those are just the facts, you're either on board or you aren't.

Seriously though, one thing no one is really talking about yet is Clark. How much better can Gary get? I'm really interested in seeing this kid progress. I"ve always knocked on Mick for not being able to have his big men progress through the years but I think we're starting to see that change a little bit. Everyone is talking about Ellis, TC, DeBerry, ect but the best player on our team this season may very well be Clark.

Based on that one scrimmage, it didn't appear that Clark had progressed much, if any. For me, he was probably the biggest disappointment. Mick said yesterday that he had really worked hard on his shooting in the offseason. It didn't show Saturday. He still played somewhat timid and didn't shoot much. But, that was just one game. Who knows?

Kentucky has proven that there is a world where that can happen. There are literally thousands of examples thru the years where better underclassmen unseated the veteran from his job. I'm not saying it will happen here, but it certainly could.

Mick seems to love that he is a "city guard" too...
