I agree AZ Bearcat, I might have tried for a 5th year. Who knows at this point. That may not have been possible.

To me, the writing is on the wall for Jay Bruce. Everyone else is getting money and he's not. If he doesn't have a good year in 2015, he'll be gone. He needs to be healthy and productive. The Reds are putting up a lot of money for these players and not getting what is deserved in return. The coaching staff needs to be more demanding and stop worrying about whether a star is unhappy or not. Spring training needs to be more rigorous. Too many injuries and too much sweet talk to the players. Oh, you feel tired today, take the day off kinda attitude. Good signings and trades have been taken including the Latos and Simon trades, signing Leake, Mesaroco all good deals.
In terms of coaching, I'm not a Brian Price fan in any way. I think he gave dozens of games away such as wrong pitcher at wrong time, babying pitchers (a guys throws 10 pitches and is not available the next day-whats up with that), wrong substitutions, playing bench players too often. He wonders why we lost the most 1 run games in the majors. I'll tell you, Brian Price. He's even quoted as saying he has not utilized the team in a way that helps them win. He also plays his bench too much. He has also stated publicly "I like playing my bench". What a stupid idea. He's got a 100 million dollar team and he likes playing his bench. His bench was one of the worst in the league. If you have a solid bench, that's one thing, the Reds bench sucked last year. He knew it and everyone knew it. Yet he still played the bench. Next gripe is he sits out star players when we are home. For instance, last year I spent 100 on meals and another 100 on tickets to watch Billy Hamilton in May of 2014 only to find him on the bench THE WHOLE GAME !!!. Sparky always said, rest your star players on the ROAD !!. Nobody drives 250 miles to see a Reds game and watch Bill Plummer catch. Next gripe, sitting Mesaroco every 5th day for Johnny Cueto to have his personal catcher in Pena. When we desperately needed a right handed power hitter in the line up to offset the lefties, he rests Mesaroco who at the time was the hottest hitter in the league. No wonder we were 10 games below .500 last year. Then we got the third base coach (Price makes no changes despite his problems) and get 30 players thrown out at home. 30 !!!!!
Yet, I still love the Reds. I bought the Saturday season ticket package. Good price and good seats. Hopefully Price won't make his multiple substitutions during these games. Sorry for the rant. It just makes me crazy when a good owner and good GM, put a coach in charge that doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing. I agreed with the coaching change, but we needed a proven major winning coach, we got a guy experimenting.
I can agree with most of what you said but I don't hang as much of the reds failures on price even though I too am not a big fan of his. This team lost last year because it couldn't score runs. The top of the order didn't get on base and the middle of the order didn't hit. When you have major league players making major league money they need to do their job when called upon. Hamilton's .292 obp and votto and bruce's low production have nothing to do with the manager unless you want to argue team chemistry and even that's a stretch. Pitching changes and substitutions I think are always over analyzed as fans. It's impossible to predict the future. You give the guy the ball and he has to go get outs. Anytime you pull a pitcher and the reliever blows it then you get criticized for pulling your guy too soon. And anytime you leave a guy in and he gives up a few late inning runs you are criticized for not pulling the guy soon enough. You really can't win. My only gripe with price and the pitchers is his insistence to keep throwing hoover out there all year.
if Todd can build off last year or even equal that production he'll break the top 10.Have any of you guys watched the Top 10 Right Now on MLB Network? They didn't have Frazier in their top 10 at 3B. Chapman somehow was #6 in RP. Cueto was the #6 SP. Mesoraco was also #6 among C (I don't have as much of a problem with this one or Cueto). And Votto was #4 at 1B.
i bet he is close now. If he repeats last year he will certainly crack top 10. He has been a nice player for team on and off the field.Frazier should definately be in the top 10. Not only did he hit well, did a nice job in the field and he played some first base. Very well at that too. He did a fine job last year.

Latos goes off on lack of leadership on Reds team. Price better get control or he is gone.
Latos failed to remember him bitching about having to do a rehab stint in June before he could come back because as he said..He felt fine and wasnt injured.
So Latos doesnt have much credibility. But at the same time, I dont agree with ANYTHING they did with bruce last year
Bad news Bailey won't be ready for opening day so 3 spot available.
