I'd never trust Cueto with a huge deal. I hope they trade him at the deadline.
I don't think they should sign him longterm but I hope he isn't traded. That would mean we are out of the race. I hope he leads us to the playoffs and they thank him and let him walk. I'll take the comp pick. if we are out of the race unlaod him.

Totally agree. No way we give him the money he is asking for. 3 years ago maybe as an investment but not now. The reds blew their money with Homer IMO.
Then Your ok with paying 25 mil a year for 10 years of Joey? Homer is younger and his prime years are all within the length of this contract. If the reds signed a bad deal it was the length of Joeys contract not Homer. Please don't get me started on Phillips.

Lol I never said I agreed with the Votto deal either, he has been plagued with bad misfortune since. But I guess I see why they did it. But I would have let Homer go for sure. Besides his no no's he has been a little above average but nothing worthy of 100 million dollar contract. I've always said the reds biggest problem is lack of offense. It will continue to be their demise.

the back end of Homers deal is still within his prime years. Joey and BP will be collecting money well past their prime years. BP already is. Homer has a much better chance of earning his money then the other two. Also when you see what their paying pitchers now he will turn out to be a bargain. Especially at his age.

Pitching was their biggest problem right before the offense was their biggest problem. I would say that the Reds biggest problem, as an organization, is finding balance with the two.

it certainly wouldn't hurt to stay healthy for a year.

Ervin won't be up in Sept. After a very nice first year in system he suffered a wrist injury that very well could have led to a disappointing year at Dayton.don't think you'll see him start year at AA. A better guess would be Daytona.

Think they have some good young prospects that would offer much more upside but they have not pitched enough innings to get through a whole year. Truly believe you'll see different pitchers starting throughout year. Also if team is out of race Cueto and Leake will both be moved at deadline
